I've disagreed with a lot of his views, but honestly, Obama is the smartest man that's been elected president in a long time. He's got an air of wisdom about him that's just been outright missing in the recent pool of candidates, and the man does study his shit. He's obviously smarter than your average American. I'm pretty sure he was a professor at one point, too.

There has been no Congress in history that's said no to the president as much as this current one. The Republican end of Congress, the majority in both houses, has had a policy of no negotiating, no compromises, just saying no. Because of that, a whole lot of Obama's ideas were pretty much filtered out unless he pushed hard for it like he did with Obamacare and the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell.

I have a feeling that this next Congressional pool is gonna want to go by the same policy.

Obamacare went through via a super majority of Democrats in the house and senate, not because he pushed hard through the current arguably obstructive Republican Congress.

I'm pretty sure there's been alot of no's in this Congress because throughout recent history Congress and presidents have just circle jerked each other with budget increases for their constituents paid for with debt. It's no wonder there's much disagreement as there's now, albeit a modicum, amount of fiscal "responsibility" now.

I doubt that the majority of posters on Veeky Forums have earned a Bachelors. At any rate Bill Nye is not a scientist. He's a Science Guy. He may spend most of his time these days talking out his ass subjects he doesn't really know much about but he's done more to advance science than most scientists. There are probably thousands of scientists who got their inspiration from a VHS of his show their elementary teacher played when the teacher didn't want to actually teach anything that day.

There's a common misconception that advanced degree equals great teacher or vice versa. Unless he's perhaps called to give a lecture on some advanced specialized subject, for most of his scientific audience he's more than capable of being an effective teacher.
