Nothing artsy-fartsy, I'm a man of simple taste.

I'm (almost) surprised anons don't know the plural from the singular here.

This is a good one

sieg heil, amirite

>seriously impeloxicating that when someone asks for "your favorite [thing]" they aren't opening a consideration of many options

City of god
Trainspotting
Rashomon
Ikiru
Tokyo monogatari
Blowup
The conversation
Run Lola run
Pierrot le fou
2001
Stalker
Orpheus
Persona
Vertigo
La jetee
Memento
Last year at marienbad
cloud atlas

fellowship of the ring will always be my favorite film

Henry V

End of Evangelion or The Wind Rises

Metropolis (1927)
I can say without hyperbole that watching Metropolis for the first time was the defining moment of my life so far. It was the movie that got me into more serious and artistic films, which got me interested in storytelling in general, which lead me to literature. It's like how the monolith in 2001 caused the monkies to evolve into humans.

to be quite honest familia
????

anyone else hate art films?

they all seem to have nothing to say + arbitrary images and scenery, not tied into the narrative or any specific vision

maybe I'm a simple bastard but I just can't stand it. a scene where lawn chairs are on top of lamp posts or some shit

Chungking Express and Fallen Angels

When it comes down to it, it's probably The Searchers.

I'm the opposite, pop films for me just seem to cheesy/forced

I'd rather watch an hour of interesting shots where nothing happens than a plot based movie

2001
Seven Samurai
Yojimbo
Metropolis
Aaltra
Winter's Light
The Great Dictator
Night of the Hunter
Eraserhead
The Exterminating Angel

there are some good art films but the ones pushed by Veeky Forums are all formalist junk

You need to get more specific.

>No Country For Old Men
>Shop Around the Corner
>The Searchers
>Apocalypse Now

nice picks!

pic related are my favorites, 12 Angry Men being my favorite

Fuck this shit
Just list the fucking movies like a normal human being.
Not everyone has time to watch movies and get "cultured" like you do, to the point they can recognize each of your images from memory.
Nobody has time to crop out all 9 of your images and reverse image search each to find out about new movies.

you are very rude >:^(

from left to right;
Seven Samaria 1954
Moon 2009
Ivan's Childhood 1962
It's Such A Beautiful Day 2012
12 Angry Men 1954
Bicycle Thieves 1948
The Gold Rush 1925
The Seventh Seal 1957
No Country For Old Men 2007

The Piano Teacher

>I'm a man of simple taste.
Yes, yes you are.
At least try watching a Bergman film or something man.

The grand budapest hotel

>the ones pushed by Veeky Forums
such as

Don't really have a favourite, but I like:
Das boot
Seventh seal
Yojimbo
2001
Seven samurai
The revenant
etc etc

I love all Leones work but I keep coming back to Duck, you sucker for the beautiful treatment and growth of the characters

Greatest film ever made

Mulholland Drive desu. Who's the David Lynch of literature?

Paris, Texas

plebeian tastes all around, to be true patrician you need to delve deep and have some taste for the pulp also

>old boy
>spring summer fall winter...
>7 iron
>la grande belleza
>les exploits d'un jeune don juan
>barry lyndon
>2001
>citizen kane
>my sassy girl
>fifth element
>bittersweet life
>hail, cesar (maybe, i need to give it time)
>young lady chatterley
>cidade de deus

And I'm sure I'm forgetting some as well.

"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" by St. Zack Snyder

Wes Anderson films make me physically nauseous

Haneke, nice.

Dances with Wolves.

>The Strange Color of Your Body's Tears
youtube.com/watch?v=VWT_zbVFmCQ

No other movie has ever come close to this in terms of cinematography, pure image and the interplat of bodies on the screen.

>Behemoth - Zhao Liang
>I Can See You - Graham Reznick
>Hausu - Nobuhiko Obayashi
>Live Like a Cop, Die Like a Man - Ruggero Deodato
