So, I have been suffering for a year from a series of tiny little bothersome symptoms that have been fucking up with my life. After countless tests, doctors found nothing so they said it was most likely anxiety or stress, even though I showed none of the psychological symptoms.
So I went on a trip to Asia and got rid of all the stress, but symptoms still fucked my shit up so I went to a doctor there and had an MRI done on my spine. They found two of the upper vertebrae were slightly displaced to the left. Hold onto your seats because this is the story of what happened when I came back to my home country and visited my doctor again.

>Go to doc
>show him the report of a Chinese hospital MRI on my neck, two of the top vertebrae slightly displaced to the left.
>"I don't believe that"
>Wat.jpg
>I tell him whether the Chinese doctors are correct or not he can see the results in the MRI results, which I brought with me
>he replies that he is unable to read such that MRI because that's not his specialty.
>He tells me it's all psychological, that it could be fybromialgia and that I should start chewing on antidepressants.
>He then proceeds to tell me that I should visit a psychologist and search for hidden traumas, perhaps a hypnotist.
>I tell him I did, they found nothing, I sarcastically say that the only doctor I haven't visited is a shaman.
>He tells me maybe I should visit one, that sometimes they solve problems doctors can't see.
>He then crowns the whole thing and recommends me antidepressants, homeopathy, hypnotism and shamanism

>Modern
>Medicine

Sounds like a shit doc given that they recommended a pile of discredited methods. Why do you keep seeing this guy and giving him money for spouting demonstrably wrong bullshit that is far form best practices? Seriously, who can call themselves a medical doctor and recommend homeopathic treatments without being a complete fraud?

I went to several doctors, more than 20 and they all were dumbfounded. The most I got from them was "It's anxiety dood" but they don't really know what's going on.

Similar thing happened to me op. I got swimmers ear from a lake when i was in high school. I go to doc, they give me ear drops. After i finish the drops the shit comes back like 3 days later. This happens about 4 fucking times before suddenly my shits all swollen and the right side of my face won't work, i can't move it.

So i go to a different doctor and he tells me i never had an ear infection in the first place. He gives me viral antibiotics that do jack shit. He says the face weakness will go away in 4 or 5 days.

>mfw its been 3 months
>mfw I'm still a retarded stroked looking motherfucker
>mfw I've given up trying

Modern doctors are so fucking useless.

Not just useless, but to put it bluntly they are fucking cunts. Their "holier than thou" attitude with their patients and with other doctors makes it fucking impossible to find the source of this fuckery. Even the guy who told me to go to a shaman wouldn't stop making small semantic remarks about the info I provided him with. I get it you finished your career but you're fucking up big time and even though I don't know as much vocabulary as you do I know when something is not ticking well in my own body.

I have spent almost two years with symptoms here and there that get more diverse and bothersome and they can't even agree between them. It's outrageous.

Forgot to mention, it was a public doc, but I went to several private doctors and they don't find shit.

Holy shit OP. Are you me?
>be Canadafag
>see a doctor for some problems i'm having
>he runs tests
>some abnormal results
> over the course of 18 months I'm referred to several specialists
> none of them can figure out what's physiologically wrong
> some of them suggest depression
> original doctor thinks I have an anxiety disorder (even though I have none of the psychological symptoms) and he suggests I consider homeopathy and meditation
> he's a licensed doctor in Canada and he recommends FUCKING HOMEOPATHY

Oh, and by the way. My "family doctor" thinks I have "some sort of dopamine issue" and he prescribes me an SSRI. I immediately ask him why he's prescribing me that specific drug since it has no direct effect on dopamine activity. He looks embarrassed and mumbles something about how "well it's all the same anyhow".

FUCK. Why can't I find a real doctor who knows what the fuck he's talking about and didn't get his medical degree from a box of lucky charms.

Murricans only care about keeping fat white men fat and white. They shipped all those sjws to prisons and shipped all the my little pony kids of to summer camps

The best advice a doctor can give here is "man up you're just being a pussy"

He's doing this because if he doesn't do it, he will get punished for "not following procedure"

These people are all Christians that believe that God has sanctioned them with rich lives for having sacred doctor DNA. I'm not even bullshitting you, if anyone here has a doctor in their family, they will know how shitty their dinner conversations go about how "blessed" they are too receive this "hidden knowledge" about how "gods creation" THE HUMAN BODY works

I'm actually a yurofag.
The only thing that I found helps a bit is keep doing exercise, makes the neck pain among other things a bit less intense and it makes it easier for me to go to work and have a normal life.

Doctors told me not to do any intense exercise and just walk, but it doesn't work. I followed their advice and I got much worse. I've been feeling like a 60 year old man for the past year. I normally follow doc's advice and take what I need to take for as long as I need, but after so long I really can't put blind faith on them and I can't afford to lose my job.

I felt like I was turning into a home plant and getting worse all the time. I really don't know what to do at this point, but I hope I find some doctor that gets his shit together. I understand they deal with shit patients every now and then but many of them act like they're talking to a stupid child or something.

Fun fact: After 7 months of tests one of the doctors I went to told me I had some neck inflammation, possibly due to spine problems. I thought her that was strange, since I had tested it months ago and nothing was found, and of course none of the other five doctors I had visited saw anything strange either.
Turns out NONE of the previous doctors didn't even fucking bother on reading the report. They told me to take antidepressants and felt like Sherlock Holmes. And I did take antidepressants for some time, but it had no effect on the symptoms I had and kept me sleepy 24/7.

As much as medicine is a science it doesn't work for shit if you don't keep at least a minimum of professionality.

I feel like I'm taking this thread to /adv/ territory right now

Again, your story parallels mine in so many ways. One of the docs I was referred to was a cardiologist. I explained to her that I get intense chest pains whenever I exercise. Her response? "Well then don't exercise." She was a morbidly obese woman in her 40s or 50s who looked like she had never exercised in her life. She wouldnt even give me a diagnosis and just told me that I should avoid exercising for the rest of my life.

And I can totally relate to doctors not reading reports. Apparently a tumor was discovered on one of my adrenal glands during a CT scan in 2009. Yet none of the fucking doctors even read the fucking report until 2014, when one of them decided that hey, maybe we should be investigating this and seeing if it's causing my hormonal abnormalities. Then they ordered a 48 hour holter test and when I had the follow-up appointment with the doctor for that, he hadn't even looked at the results.

Yeah. None of the doctors I've encountered have exhibited ANY sort of professionalism. And they talk to you like you have an IQ of 80. It's so frustrating that my health is in these people's hands. I wish I could just order my own tests and prescribe my own medications. I have no formal medical training but at least I have critical thinking skills and I give a fuck about the patient (myself).

I guess what I've found (and what you've found) is that the only person who gives a fuck about your health is YOU. You have to do whatever it takes to try to help yourself, because doctors are by and large a joke.

Had scabies for a few months and 4 docs couldn't figure it out. Skin specialist took one look and knew right away what it was.

Also have acne and 3 docs haven't been giving me any good advice (had to google up subantimicrobial doxycycline and insist on getting that to get a huge improvement).

Took me a lot of googling to cure my hay fever (apparently I was vitamin D and fish oil deprived) after 25 of suffering. All the docs did was prescribe antihistamines. Been 6 years free of it.

Jesus christ. I hope you're alright user. That tumor part would freak me out.
I guess it's all about finding a doctor who gives a fuck.
Healthcare is free here, but takes too long if you wish to wait.
I'll keep going to the trusty private doc who said my spine could be wrong. He's not really to blame since he was given the wrong report.
Good luck m8.

go to a doctor for ear stuff
in germany we say Hals Nasen Ohren Arzt (HNO)
wich means throat nose ear doctor
i donĀ“t know the correct englisch word for that

i wouldn't even go to a fat doctor

>i wouldn't even go to a fat doctor
seriously this. If I got referred to a cardiologist like that I'd laugh in her fucking face and walk out the door

It's called an ENT, Ear Nose Throat. Otolaryngologist

What are your symptoms OP?

>something in my neck gets swollen and won't let me sleep at night. It's sometimes on the part I pronounce /g/ and some others right above the sternum on the lower neck.
>Sore throat easy to catch.
>Never had teeth problems in my life, washed teeth thoroughly every day, went to trusty dentist three months ago, still got two decays in those two months and I just found a third one today.
>One of my eyes goes blurry every now and then (rare). This also happens in the morning when I wake up.
>Sudden MASSIVE fall of hair even though there are no baldies in my family.
>Neck pain.
>Middle back pain.
>back of the head pain.
>Chest pain when breathing deeply.
>Stomach pain (below the heart) when breathing deeply, laughing or coughing.
>Bronchii inflammation, causes breathing problems.
>Aesophagus inflammation causes breathing problems and when I cough sometimes it tastes like blood, but I never spat it so I can't be sure.
>Stomach acid going supernova.
>Either I go to the toilet 3 times a day or I don't go for 5 days. Shit smells weird.
>body smell has changed.
>Both neck ganglions are swollen for months.
>Dizziness
>Fatigue
>Heart rhythm dropping to 52, making me feel tired.
>(rare) wake up at night, covered in cold sweat, dries fast and stops as soon as I wake up.
>right kidney hurts sometimes.
>Heart rhythm suddenly racing to 130.

I got tested for cancer and AIDS. Negative.
I did X ray on sternum and neck, an electro on the heart and two MRI on neck and spine.

All they found so far:
>Arthritis on neck C3 and C4, not much but present.
>C1 and C2 slightly displaced to the left (if the Chinese report is correct)
>Mandible bone connection is slightly fucked up for some reason.

That should be everything. It started as a slight neck discomfort that woke me up at night and caused my heart to race.

I have to wait 4 weeks every time I want to see my GP just to get rushed out the door with otc strength painkillers whenever something is wrong with me.

I feel so lucky to rarely need a doctor. Sorry for your shitty experiences op, maybe threaten to sue for neglect/malpractice or something next time you're there.

So what I have gathered from this thread is that most doctors are shit for unique symptoms in patients, and have no idea what they are doing, unless, it's a textbook job on their patient. Jesus Christ, get your shit together, docs.

ITT people learn medicinefags are not scientists.

The doctor's repository of knowledge should have been automated by a computer and a search engine a long time ago. Like MYCIN.

You need Dr. House.

It's called google; it always diagnoses cancer and suggests to realign your chakras as a therapy.

Lyme disease? You'd know if you got bit by a tick though.

Lyme disease?
I suspected it could be some sort of mold among other lesser spine issues, since there's a persistently annoying white fungus growing in my house. We removed it several times already.

See a chiropractor about the possibly displaced vertebra. At the very least they'll be able to tell you whether or not it's displaced and do something about it if it is.

Idk man I'm not a doctor, but there are fungal infections that can cause hair loss. Although they're more patchy than diffuse hair loss. Take note that if you've been given antibiotics, they do nothing for fungal infections.

Your blurred vision could be because of sinus pressure if you had it. Could be a fungal sinus infection, but you didn't mention anything to do with your sinuses.

The body aches, unless they're sharp, could be the result of just having an infection, like when you get the flu. Same with the other symptoms.

You're a case, dude. Tell us what tests you've done.

Shit dude, I can't imagine all of those things being to symptoms of just one condition, some have to come for you stressing out about what's actually wrong with you. C3 and C4 are where your phrenic nerve stems from, so that might explain your breathing problems in a way. Mandible shouldn't be connected to any of that.

Chiropractors are scams, go to a neurologist.

disregard my grammar, my thoughts went too fast for my typing there

Neurologist said I was okay.
Chinese masseuse (not even chiropractor) told me something was fucked up on my spine as soon as she put her hands on my neck, then she told me sometimes my nerves got pinced because of said spine problems. I didn't even tell her anything about it, I just went to try a massage there. She was based as fuck and managed to patch me up a bit. That and another Chinese doc (who was pretty much a chiro+accupuncture) are the only reason I can go to work. I was barely able to move normally until they did their magic. Placebo or not I feel slightly better since then.

I also went to several chiropractors in Europe, but none managed to make me feel better.
EXACTLY. It falls in big patches and mostly on one side. I hope that means it will grow again.
In a year my hairline on the sides has receded, but it feels like patches falling more than anything.

>Your blurred vision could be because of sinus pressure if you had it.
Probably this. Left sinus is partly blocked, but they told me everyone else pretty much has this.
Body aches are sometimes sharp and really annoying, but then some other days they're 100% gone. It depends on the day.

So far I've got.
>Blood test for STD and Cancer
>2 X ray on torso, back and neck
>2 MR on neck and spine
>That small camera they insert to see your throat from the nose.
>Ecography of neck and thyroid gland.
>That stomach test where you drink some white shit.
>2x electrocardiogram
>Helicobacter test for stomach.

Fungal infection makes sense, as there was this nasty motherfucker growing in my bedroom. We cleaned it up, but ever since I've been feeling odd. It started with a very small set of symptoms. Any simple DIY fungal killer I can use? I find it weird that doctors haven't found anything yet. My brother also feels his throat isn't doing well. He's been like this for years, just like me, and we also removed those funghi from his bedroom. Rest of the house is clean.

This fungal infection theory is starting to grow on me :^)

It was my first thought, but doc dismissed it saying it was impossible.

Its not lupus

I've had problems with cardiology before. My mother has chronic hypotension (64/48 sleeping, a 24hr tape showed), cardio suggested she wear flight stockings and drink fizzy juice. Fucking seriously, 13 years of training and that's your best advice?

Bad GPs do my head in too. As first point of contact why can't they show a modicum of compassion? I understand they're busy but come on.

As an aspiring medical student myself this stuff really frustrates me no end. It's not that difficult to just put in a little effort and remember for most people this absolutely is not an everyday thing.

Op here.

public or private, there are docs who take their time to see what's wrong with the patient. Even if they didn't cure me I-m ok with these guys and their job.

What pisses me off is the cuntbags who don't even check any of the symptoms and give youn some snake oil meds.
I wake up after a few hours during sleep because my bronchii are closed. I was given diazepam for that and when thay didn't work... double ration of diazepam!
I remember not being able to fall asleep and being tired all day.

It is always lupus.

If it's a fungal infection in head and neck, how can I remove this shit?

They have pills specifically for fungal infections, anti-fungals. You'd have to convince a doctor to prescribe you some. Maybe try going to an ENT and complaining about your sinuses among other things. Mention the mold in your room. Act desperate.

They usually try antibiotics first. Fungal infections are uncommon. If you haven't tried an antibiotic yet, they might give you that first.

this entire thread

>that patient

Also what do you mean when you say your shit smells weird? If it smells yeasty it could be thrush; candida. Doctors probably wince when patients self diagnose that because a bunch of snake oil salesmen try to convince everybody they need a "candida cleanse". It can be a legitimate diagnosis though.

I tried. I was treated with a fairly strong one for a month. Didn't work so I have to see doc again for a change in our plan to get healthy again.

Med student here. Modern doctors should be forced to watch pic related to understand logical process and solving problems from first principle. Medicine would improve a thousand fold. Most of these "doctors" who graduated in 1970 haven't a clue what they're doing, never read any reports and have a complete contempt for science. T. Med student

Most of the ones that treated me were pretty young.
In fact, the only doctor who did something is an old guy who acts a bit like a detective. Pretty cool to see him work.

>Homeopathy
Steal his degree, burn it, and cook up a head injury to get a ct scan.
