Yes, a number larger than 1 multiplied by itself many times results in a large number while a number smaller than 1 multiplied by itself many times results in a small number. It's pretty obvious if you think about it for more than a second.

So 2% extra effort over 365% days equals a number higher than 0% extra effort? wow

[math]{1.00}^{365}=1.00[/math]

What is the point of this thread OP?

post math that makes you think
rly made me htink

>post math that makes you think
No

At first no-one replied to this thread.

Then 7 people replied to this thread.

How many percents did the reply count grow?

I missed this board.
Fuck you op come back when you graduate high school

This question really got the neurons firing.

[math]100%[/math]%

what a spunk monk

So, if days became 23.76 hours long then we'd have REALLY short years? like we'd only have 10.95 days in a year?

really made me think

I thought about this question very hard

This made me think

activated my almonds

1 - 1 = 100 - 100, think about it

Go back to primary school you fucking retard.

[math]
\prod_{n=1}^{\infty} 1 \neq {1}^{\infty}
[/math]

Really activates the old noggin

[math]\sin{\theta}=\theta[/math]
Really makes me think

I've given this a lot of thoughts and concluded that if θ is small enough that works.

-1/12

Lol this fucking thread

...

This post really has got me thinking...

"no one" is not hyphenated

Aren't they both = 1?

Posts like these... they really make you think.

I dont get this

thats the joke.

he's an underachiever.

Good. Get out.

The universe is a beautiful place.

This really made me think.

e^{\pi{}*i} * 0 = 0

Did this blow anyone else's mind when they first saw it?

[math] e^{\pi{}*i} * 0 = 0 [/math]

fug I suck at latex

Giving 0% effort for 0 days is better than giving 99% effort for 365 days. No wonder I'm so successful. Tryhards BTFO.

One of the most beautiful equations of all time, I usually loose sleep because of it, because it's one of those things that really makes you think.

You don't even have to give this a lot of thought. Simply imagine a graph of f(x)=sinx and f(x)=x
There's only one point of intersection, friendo, and it's (0,0)

0.999...=1

I stopped caring about math when I was introduced to the concept of imaginary numbers. What a crock of shit. If your equation can only be solved by inventing numbers that can't exist, like some kind of math deity , then you are fucking wrong and the math is flawed. Same for algebra solutions that basically say "the correct answer is whatever the correct answer is". Thats what the math said transcribed to words but god forbid if i wrote in down in english instead of the ancient math runes the teacher word mark me wrong.

Math is logical and numbers never lie my ass. Math is just as flawed as any other human construct.

Op is a faggot but
>primary school.
Euro fag detected.

I understand the bait but there is some truth to this. A ton of math is purely hypothetical and if we are ever able to introduce it to the real world it may not perform that way.

shut the fuck up. a degree 2 extension of R is very fucking natural, especially because it's algebraically closed.

dont believe me? ask electric engineers, you fucking doofus. they use a shitload of complex numbers

Also it's [math]e^{\pi \cdot i \cdot 0} = 1[/math].

Triggered

>they use a shitload of complex numbers
They're just using another form of sin and cos.

>hurr C is just another form of R^2
MIND BOGGLE

this really brought thought into my brain and kept it there

Congratulations. You have just discovered the principles of compound interest and radioactive decay. These are simply points on an exponential curve. It is much easier to view this as follows:

exp( [force of interest/decay rate] x t); t = time.
exp(0.01*365) = 38.47
exp(-0.01*365) = 0.02599

Lastly, learn significant figures.

You made my day OP, if you count a crickets chirps for 15 seconds and add 37 to it you get a pretty accurate reading of the temperature. If you multiply .03 by 22,200 You get 666. 2sine(666)=-1.6180339 the golden ratio. Five is the key to nine.

Divide both sides by zero and you get 3=500. Pretty amazing.

Im a high schooler and i can explain it . the rulesays if q is between 1 and -1 than q power n tends to zero . if the q is superior to 1 it tend to the positive infinity

>if you count a crickets chirps for 15 seconds and add 37 to it you get a pretty accurate reading of the temperature

>Using Fahrenheit, not Celsius

>2sine(666)=-1.6180339

>Using degrees, not radians

Please remove yourself from Veeky Forums

Wow, that really made me think

I am

wtf i hate zero now

you're a retard, die in a fire

There are many constructions of the complex plane which bear no mention to the square root of -1. My favourite being using Rings and Ideals:

The ring of polynomials quotiented by the ideal generated by x+1 gives us a quotient ring where x acts exactly like i. that is x^2 = -1 (sorry for no LaTeX), except it is a deduced result, not an assumed one. Have a read around, it's really quite nice.

>you will never be good at math

am i dumb? im great at everything else. im not even bad at mathematics in general, its just the algebra that fucks my life up

=')

edit
[math]1^n[/math]

>im great at everything else

lol sure you are

>Claims he's good at everything else
>When he sucks at math
LOL CANT MAKE THIS SHIT UP
BIOLOGY MAYBE THATS THE EXTENT

No, the product symbol in that scenario is correct.

PI n=1 to inf (1) = 1 * 1 * 1 * 1 * 1 * ...
PI n=1 to inf (1^n) = 1^1 * 1^2 * 1^3 * 1^4 * ...

which are equivalent anyway

I love this pasta

$e^{\pi \cdot i}-1=0$

Adolescents..

how much is 1-0.999...?

this actually made me rage

Good thread op

> not bad at math in general
> struggles with algebra

You probably got a bad teacher for algebra

Don't worry famalam, just practice mor
