What kind of material would be preferred?

Is this really us? Come on! We’re wave riders.

Nice 89

Let’s stir things up! How? With collective collaboration

can I just go in and delete everyone's hard work?

Collective collaboration is a more natural approach

There's already 3 TLOTIAT

whats up with the resurgence of collab lit on here?
there are several threads now. i posted this on the other one and think its relevant here:

> we should not use the same gimmick as the others.

>we should probably carve out a plot or theme first and then write around it, running of into tangents and sub-sub-sub chapters but always flittering around a central theme or plot.

>we should try and keep current memes, which will date the book significantly, out so that we form a true masterpiece which can be immortalised in the para-canon.

>we should keep it entirely a secret on Veeky Forums (i know Veeky Forums isnt a "secret club" but compared to reddit Veeky Forums is just two guys in a public toilet frotting) until completed

>we should try to make it actually decent. we need a way to discard the husk of shit from the kernel of literary worth without censoring true creative expression - perhaps a form of democratic censorship?

>it needs to be short. 300 pages max.

>we shouldnt start until after summer is over. but we can always brainstorm now. get people to write some samples. share ideas. map out plot ect

>anyone agree?

basically, wait a while.

>4+ books in 2 years
>Let's write another one lol

No fucking thanks.

No one agrees.

here is what i think we should do (in a while).

a collection of interconnected short stories. using the same characters from the canon in utterly anachronistic comic situations. loosely centred on the set of themes of absurdity, repetition, the unknown, science, mystery, post-post-modernism.
they should form some kind of puzzle - like a detective novel, using esoteric clues from literature, history, science ect.

using multiple languages (keep it european).

dont just stick to lolsorandom, /pol/ humour, stream of consciousness, memes, ect that is used in the recent collabs.

definitely delete this doc. wait until we know what we are doing.

i bet 500£ this project fails. because everyone agrees.

So, what would be the plot, or even some outlines of it?

firstly
>plot

secondly, maybe a detective novel of sorts. set in different literary settings, with different literary characters. maybe something like The Trial, where the crime isnt revealed but we see the detective interviewing all these characters and hearing their views on random things. even the mystery is a mystery, like maybe an unspecified object is stolen and we never find out what is is. i just had an idea of like a maze (one you find in childrens puzzle books) with multiple exits which run along the margins on the books to different passages.

idk. i think the plot should be collaborative as well, so i wouldnt want to outline it myself.

Plot ideas:

Ragtag crew of skinheads plan out a glorious hate crime spree at the end of which they are supposed to drive a stolen giant bulldozer through a pride parade before kamikazeing it into a synagogue. Things end up going terribly, terribly wrong.

Nick Gomulka: leader of the pack, also minor YouTube bodybuilding celebrity and occasional frontman of indescribably shitty nazi punk band.

Liam Gomulka:Nick's brother, weird racist weeb who spergs out about conspiracy theories in public.

Maureen Gomulka: mother of the aforementioned. Despite being morbidly obese, unable even to pass through the front door, she manages to inflict considerable physical and emotional abuse on her children. Likes: popping pills and watching pawn shop themed reality TV all day long.

Kristeen: Nick's gf.Junior manager at Dairy Queen.

perhaps we could pick a classic, like joyce did to odyssey for uysses, and base the structure off that.
maybe a bible story or something. depends on the basic structure we want i.e. bildingsroman, adventure, heist, detective ect

>maybe a detective novel of sorts. set in different literary settings, with different literary characters
havent we had a plot like this in every single fucking Veeky Forums book

this is shit. sorry mate. go back and try again. very limiting this. would YOU even read that?

we live in the distant future. men have been trained from a young age to suck there own Dicks. women die out because of this. men aren't gay. they just don't need women. a few women remain. death squads are always on the lookout for the remaining women, who frequently try and steel baby boys.

THIS IS THE PLOT

not really

Why not a story about living in modern, terrorist ridden Europe?

>the scene when Agamemnon sacrifices 99 animals and drops wine all over the place before talking to Achilles
wonderful

my vote is for dicksucking universe

You can be our referenced expert

You could, but Docs saves it so it is undone easily

too political and current. and limiting

neat

too political and current. and limiting

yes really faggot
>Veeky Forums unable to do something original

we could use my short story idea for plot. we are one dude who has a business writing people's suicide letters. before he writes them his clients like to call him and talk about their life. some like him to visit them or hang out with their family. The clients family can't know why he's there obviously. so shit gets wacky and zany.

It's ironic bro. It's supposed to be shit. That's the whole point

>set in different literary settings, with different literary characters
No. We've already done that. We should go with and do a
>a collection of interconnected short stories. using the same characters from the canon in utterly anachronistic comic situations

detective jones was literally that exact thing and there were similar storylines in Tundra and Tokyo

Should we make a new thread to discuss some plans and free ourselves from the travesty that "Dreamscape", which should be swiftly killed now before people waste time on it?

bye

quality novel lads

im not suggesting a plot. we should decide what we want to do together.
the only thing i stand firmly on is: and

it's over. i'm glad.

Bye

bye

...

I took part in ALOTIAT but wasn't here when Hypersphere was written.

1) How does Hypersphere compare to Tundra?

2) Where can I read it?

Its better and just google it, it should come up

>better
Ok - in what way? Does it have a plot?

dropbox.com/s/32ygs8nz3rxe11y/Meme Literature.7z?dl=0

if asks to create an account just click "no, thanks"

yes, it is better in basically every way

It's a bit more vivid, the plot kind of unwinds in the middle but people discussed it enough to work out a climax that's not a complete (complete) "fuck you reader", there's some good short stories that kind of work in there own universe, bottleman dropped some nasty prose, and, I think, there's a strong absurdist theme that kind of rifts of the zeitegiest of the hyper-exaggerative and commercial internet generation.

A lot of it is shit though. You should read it on drugs and skip the parts you dislike.

will it be the next Biblió Tour de Force?

Now this is an idea I can get behind.
I'd suggest the Decameron

It'd be just people writing porn plots tho

Some fag or another tries to start one every summer.

Kanye West spends a day in Los Angeles. He wakes up, fucks him, has breakfast with the Jenner girls, heads to the studio, records a track or two, hits the club, etc etc. A Ulysses for the postmodern age.

Something similar has already started with First House: The Kanye Incident, Episode 1. just add it in there, it'll fit right in.

G

Nah definitely save that for your short story. That sounds interesting and a collab writing project would no doubt fuck it up

Would it be absolutely retarded to reference Inferno? Or perhaps the divine comedy as a whole? I wouldn't be interested in reading a collection of short stories about each of the mortal sins, but that is only the setting of the story after all-Dante crosses Hell's terrain like its a place on Earth and we may relate to that.

mega.nz/#F!14tWHYIZ!Wdo2WFXJTNVyX7Bcfbgv5A

Cosmic horror that is actually a comedy.
do it fags, what would be better than a section where the protag catches Cthulhu painting his nails? xD

Ew
Seriously though comedy is the lowest form it can literally be experienced by anybody

>Surely, this post was not made in jest!

I propose we go back to Veeky Forums's real roots and write this novel entirely in x86 machine code in a generated font constructed from meter and meme compressability

Hey man, i'm just clubbin on a saturday

'no'

christ fuck our post numbers are opcodes

It's too soon for this. Besides, it's only being suggested now because the kid who archives all these collab projects basically farms Veeky Forums for free money.

nice

>forgetting a boy called wolf

shame on you, the DFW fan fic at the end is god tier

a choice excerpt, alot funnier if you've seen end of the tour:
“You don’t think I’m an everyman, that’s it right!”
“I just walked in the door, why don’t we introduce ourselves.” said Lipsky.
ayy
“No, I can see it, you think I’m a Hollywood jerk!” raged David "Career Move" Wallace
At this point David Lipsky was afraid for his life but knew this would be the interview of the decade.
“Ah, about the ontological themes in your opus Infinite Jest, I wonder-”
“If we ate like this all the time what would be the problem?” interjected Wallace. There was no food or drink in sight. Lipsky looked at him perplexed.
Wallace was now doing a hoedown dance in the middle of the room, stomping his feet and whooping in a loud voice. “I’m a regular dude!” he bellowed. “I don’t care about fame! I cherish my regular guyness!”
“Did I mention I own two dogs and drink diet coke?” said Wallace.
Lipsky cast his gaze around the warm, dirty living room. There were heaps of empty diet coke cans everywhere and beach towels used as curtains on the windows. The words “I am a regular guy. Fame doesn’t bother me. I cherish my regular guyness and drink diet coke” were etched into the coffee table in a crude script.
“Hey, let’s go get some dirty Nebraskan pussy at the hoedown!” exclaimed Wallace. “Oh, you’re gay? I know a megachurch we could huff paint in then burn down. Did I mention I named my book after a line in Hamlet? It fucking sucks being rich and white, that’s what it’s about. That’s all brown people want to read about, attractive wealthy people wringing their hands over our futility of it all. This is off the record right?”
Lipsky was appalled at David’s behavior. He contemplated getting up and leaving but Wallace was blocking the door with his large frame.
“Hey I know, let’s get your girlfriend on the horn. It’s only 3am in New York .”

Seems your project has run to seed. The impulse to write a new story has to espouse some spontaneity to it, otherwise it will seem as it is: forced. There will come a time - maybe very soon - when we write something great together, no doubt. I do not think this is the time.

who deleted all the shit that was there yesterday? you guys are no fun.

this, I put great effort to my contribution and now it's gone. fuck you. the current shit is even worse

You can always retrieve your work from Googledocs, there's an archiver.

Wow, this shit really sucks.

>deleting my OLMAMENT

nigga I need those

So is there going to be any kind of plot to this story? At least Hypersphere had a plot

So it's a worthy successor to the previous Tundra books then.

my favourite section from tundra

who is writing those 'olmaments'?

what do they mean?

I'll explain it this way: if Dreamscape is the story, then the Olmaments are the fiber which the story is printed on.

you're all just writing gay erotica, this is boring

the entire thing has so far consisted of faggots blanking the article and memers writing gay DFW erotica, overall I expected as much

yup

bump

There were a few things before that wasn't incoherent drivel but memers can't help but erase and replace it with erotica I guess

how?

Just click on "See new changes" in blue over the document, or it might appear as "Last edit made ...". What happens is you are presented with all the archived material for the document, you just have to toil through these dates until you find your lost work (unless you memorized the date of access, then it's easier.)

>Gomulka
kek

nigger the trilogy is already complete

>implying this counts

Inb4 faggot
Inb4 pleb

Fan here, noncontributor.

TLOTIAT and Hypersphere were great fun for me and I'm looking forward to something new.

Please don't stop, Anonymous

Q: did you come from reddit, if so, how did you initially receive the news?

Are we just starting over? What happens to the stuff that was deleted?

I'm putting my Dill story back in no mTter what

kek

Nah reddit is for faggots

I'm usually on /pol/ desu

But I just lurk cause I don't fit in anywhere

i forgot to keep my thoughts on ice

Write it or not I don't care anymore I regret posting/ returning to this thread

Fuck you all
Death will come

nice story

There's a taintmaster in the doc posting taints

Kill yourself.

Kind of insane. There must have been at least 100 people who decided to read the whole thing, which is effectively self-harm.
