Of the boards I've been to, I'd say Veeky Forums is occasionally interesting/useful for recommendations, /mu/ is meme-ridden but good for recommendations, Veeky Forums has the best community and discussions (within its very small niche) and /tv/ is a godforsaken memehole with no redeeming features.

Dont feel so bad. I have a ton of respect for people who come out of the STEM vs. arts tunnel vision, even if it's late and battered by misconceptions that have fucked you over, it is a great thing to cut your losses and look in new placed instead of becoming stubborn and embittered.

It's funny how outsiders are able to clearly see the similarities between reddit and this place yet most of the blue boards vehemently deny they are anything like reddit. Veeky Forums is basically just a reddit outpost where you can say nigger without fear of being banned.

Redditors moved in. I see people posting reddit content on this board all the time and nobody even bats an eye. Veeky Forums is by far one of the most heavily colonized boards on the site, on par with /tv/ and /pol/, only you don't notice it because the type of reddit immigrants are different than the shitposters and underage kids who infest /tv/ and /pol/. Instead this board got a huge influx of pretentious undergraduates who think reading philosophy makes them god's gift to mankind.

Man that takes me back. I knew it had to be a few years old before I even opened it. Veeky Forums used to be such a delightful place. Comparatively at least. Now I have no place like that. Reddit is full of plebs of the most repulsive sort and Veeky Forums has ten threads a day about how life sucks as a lonely asshole.
