All of them, choose your level of abstraction.

It's probably some form of chemical storage.

It can't be electricity or quantum mechanics.

It is wrong to tip the vessel of knowledge, student.

Intel Centrino Technology.

Electricity isn't used to form connections between neurons, neurotransmitters are. Electricity just transmits the signal from one end of the neuron to the other.

Watching STEM-lords struggle with non science is adorable

My understanding is that any kind of thought is an electric signal inside your brain. Now if you repeat this thought many times the path through which the signal travels reinforces itself making it easier for the thought to form, forming what you would call a memory. Some, depending on your evolutionary traits may form more easily than others. For example, human's tendency to travel/migrate/explore gives them strong spacial memory. You may use this to your advantage with the mind palace method.

Dreams on the other hand, are just trips that result from sensory deprivation.

You

I like you

All your memories are in synapses.
These memories are actually very "compressed" and only contain minimal info. When you recall a them, your brain runs a small simulation of sorts and plugs in the basic ideals (who, where, why, etc).

This recall can actually change the memory itself, which is why human memory is so unreliable and false memories are easy to impress on children.

Pretty much this. The reality you observe is an illusion created by your brain from its senory inputs. Your memory is just a replay of the bits your brain created.
