Query: If what makes me, me is my mind, both the inherent uniqueness of my mind, but, importantly, also its totality (as in the left half of my brain meat isn't a different me or a sub me but a constituant part of the whole of me, in the same way as my arm is not a unique body but a constituant part of what is my body.) If I get up to quickly and blood rushes around and I sort of black out coz there are issues with my blood flow to my brain, am I no longer me or a different me, a variation on me?

Why are the definitions of such things so vague. Is an amputee still the same person as they were before they lost their limbs? Is a person just an arbritrary concept with know material weight? I mean, of course.

I've clearly answered my own question. There is no answer yet. Our definitions do not facilitate answering the question. I assume that is why heidegger is supposed to be so impenetrable. The common lexicon is insufficient to deail with actual philosophy as the definitions are so useless. But when you essentially invent your own vocabulalry then you texts become totally useless. When you think the author is dead and heidegger is literally dead then the text remains useless. There is no rosetta stone.

But if the authot is dead then all things are inpenetrable. Like is hermoine really black or not? Well neither, because she doesn't exist as material. To go full circle if hermoine drank a pollyjuice potion (i think thats the right one) and her body became that of a black woman would she still be hermoine?

We can only ever THINK we understand what the author or philosopher was trying to transmit and as such does even the common lexicon fall short?

I think the solution to all these problems is just what Camus said about 'we want to discover the truth but we can't'. We want to discuss these things, the penetrate deeper but we can't. The common lexicon is useless on too many levels and the individual lexicon is pointless for anyone but ourselves.

But if an amputee or a lobotomized individual reads a philosphical text they composed prior to there amputation or lobotomy in their personal lexicon then would there intepretation still be valid?
