How about we make this plain and simple: Is muh cause evidence-based? Yes / no / possibly / who knows. Try to find the mechanism supporting the evidence. Try to find further evidence of cases where said mechanism occurs without usual correlations. Refine mechanism when new findings occur. Done. Way better than your "when it gets into my head it makes me feel funny inside because it doesn't work inside my head".

Psychology is pseudoscience

It lacks, amongst other things, falsifiability which is the bedrock upon which science is built

Psychologists and psychiatrists don't know what the scientific method is or how to use it

Psychology usurped religion and philosophy in the West because 1) religion is dying out and 2) philosophy can be difficult to read and understand let alone apply it to yourself
Much easier to just have a snake oil salesman tell you it's all because you want to fuck your mom and kill your dad and throw a bottle of SSRIs at you
