How to become funny?

Not sure if this is the best place to ask but how can I acquire better sense of humor and become funnier person?

Funny people are boring.

Well that seems to not be the case usually but even then I don't want to become a comedian, just to have a decent sense of humor.

Seconded. But humor isn't boring.

Read Steven Pinker. He is a cognitive scientist who specializes on humor.

Hows that?

Watch Seinfeld. Also, don't overthink being funny, just maintain a fresh and unusual perspective on things

He is ASS imo.

Analysed humour ceases to be funny.

le shit nigger

why do you want to be funnier?

>gf
>new friends
>center of attention

What do you want?

Read The Phenomenology of Spirit.

In my opinion the funniest people are the ones who are smart + exceptional in their field as well as humble and down to earth, the humor is just natural to them and they don't have to force comedy, it just comes through now and again. SO to answer your question

1) Become Smart (Read books, attend higher education institution)

2) Become exceptional at your field (Refer to 1) and also imitate the pros at your craft)

3) Stay humble, don't take yourself too seriously and just fucking act like a normal person.

Voila you are now a certified funny-man

>>new friends
mostly this
>center of attention
nah
I still need to read a lot of philosophy books before I do it.
>Read books, attend higher education institution)
Well thats what I do already.
>Stay humble, don't take yourself too seriously and just fucking act like a normal person.
Of course.

brevity and timing

No, people with Asperger's Syndrome are boring.

it depends on what kind of funny you want to be. there's funny people who entertain other people and funny people who entertain themselves and others just by-proxy.
which is what boring people say all the time

Always remember that the best jokes are the shortest ones, keep it simple and short or you can be sure it'll turn into a spaghetti fest if you don't know what you're doing.

Just say the truth. Say what you and other people are thinking. Use understatement, overstatement and sarcasm to make your point.

Congratulations, you're funny now.

To add...I believe creativity is a major aspect of humor.
I suggest putting time aside everyday to do something creative; play an instrument, paint, creative writing, etc.

I also believe for most people it's easier to be humorous around good friends or family.

Additionally, learn different perspectives by experience more, being open to diversity, reading more comedic material, watching stand up or comedy shows, don't be afraid, be confident in yourself, smile, etc

Lastly, keep yourself from getting depressed. Depression kills everything

Humor is the last refuge of the incompetent.

>I suggest putting time aside everyday to do something creative; play an instrument, paint, creative writing, etc.
That don't make one creative. You'll get better at painting and playing instruments.
Creative writing might be an exception.
