More than anything, I was surprised by how funny this could be (and at some of weirdest times, too). "Swann in Love" is like an extended George Costanza scene, complete with all his hangups and fears and with his weird ability to be perfectly fine in the end.

In high school when I read it and I remember being disappointed

Corn came from the New World, dumbass.

Only one of these I've ever made.

the cycle has been renewed for another 3000 years

Seems comfy.

I couldn't fucking believe it

Would you recommend it?

Yeah, unless having sympathetic characters is all-important to you. It's very well written.

I don't follow... Explain.

The first book (Rendezvous with Rama) was so good. Then Lee got involved and fucked it all up.

good one. accurate as fuck.

...

How am I supposed to interpret OP? I was thinking of ordering this book.

No. Pictures of this sort as "what I got" is a hyperbole-meme.

Can you gentlemen explain to a foreign newfag what the term "Corn" means?

Commentaries on the Gallic War deals in part with the logistics of keeping an army fed so there is a lot of talk about corn.

By corn, it means grain. It's an epic maymay to pretend it means maize, which is why attracted scorn and derision.

The second and third books dealt largely with sexual relations between Nicole de jardins, a black Frenchwoman who was the only adult human female in the Rama capsules for much of those books, and the other humans aboard. She banged all of them then they were trying to figure out the best way to incestually breed her kids with the other members in order to best propagate the human race while in deep space. Spent way too much time on that subject

Meant to reply to this, on my phone

I don't know whether to screenshot this for r/books or r/Veeky Forums lol

did you find this book difficult to read? I havent read it yet as I read moderatley, but my Dad is a huge book worm and he said it was the most intense book he ever read, as in, he struggled to read it.
the only books he said was harder than this were "Mason & Dixon", or maybe "The Canterbury Tales" (both of which he couldnt get through)

still a good book
