o/ Veeky Forums I'm here to promote my Discord Writing Group \ Server.
We're an active group of about 30+ but are looking for more users to join as we may trim off the ones who have never had activity after joining.
We support all types of writing and actively read and assist other's work. Thus far it has been a respectful and well-rounded community and we hope to have more of the same pleasant experiences with new users.

You mean, people actually discuss books and don't bother pretending.
Of the people I've seen post their writing in the group, half were writing genre fiction and half writing literature. Seems reasonable to me.

Your taste is shit, and you should feel ashamed of it. You should try to improve your tastes, literature isn't a mean of escapism, but one of the highest forms of art created by man, and you are shitting on literally every great writer when you defend generic fantasy.

Lets not forget the prevalence of fiction writers throughout all of history even before that. Fiction is something we've been writing for centuries. But nah "hurdur its bad because I'm smurt"
what percentage of it is poetry? i usually demand the poets join all their lines together to make a couple of paragraphs, they get butthurt and demand i leave.

There are no rules except common politeness. There are dedicated rooms so it isn't a mess.
As someone who is new to writing, what can I expect from a writing group?
Someone else to publish your work.
If you believe that then you're pretty paranoid.
Constant feedback as you're writing up your story, various advices, reliable readers who can point you out relevant references and a slight eventuality to get published.

Is writing in Spanish tolerated?
This, sorta, I'm an avid writer and reviewer but I type my stories and replies entirely in microsoft wingdings.
The thing is that I can read others in English and give my take; but I write in Spanish, so I don't know. I don't mind that only a couple of people are able to read me and opine.
We wouldn't push you away, but the issue is that you'd basically have no one to review your work.
Are you certain that there are no Spanish speakers in the group?
