The history of philosopy without any gaps (with some gaps)
Radiolab
Frank Delaney's Re: Joyce (haven't listened to it myself, but I suppose it's helpful when reading Ulysses)
Dan Carlin's hardcore history is decent for giving a good overview of big historical events

For history, In Our Time is the best.

Yes. MELVIN BRAGG.
This is proper BBC stuff, none of than Yankee codswallop.

BEE, but his release schedule is too inconsistent

Any way to get PEL without the subscription?

Harmontown was fun when they did their DnD thing.. now a little dumb with their pro Hillary shilling.

xfm innit

The Slate Political Gabfest
Vox's The Weeds
The Ezra Klein Show
Real Time with Bill Maher (audio only)
NYT's The Run-Up
The Moth
This American Life
Radiolab
Freakonomics
Intelligence Squared Debates

NYRB puts out little clips of people talking, i don't know from what but sometimes it's about literature.

The New Yorker fiction editors do a series where authors read stories by other authors from their archives

The Dollop is pretty great

Fuckin orange

Hardcore History
Common Sense
In Our Time
Freakonomics

Joe Rogan's podcast is good when he has people with interesting things to talk about on his show like Louis Theroux or Sam Harris rather than shit comedians, celebs, etc..

That's only really when the lesbian comics are on, they're more anti-government in general.

Philosophy Bites

>radiolab
when do bad memes end?

you will leave this board right now, reeee and so on

>free
>good

This is where "piracy" goes wrong.

For actual leftist commentary that isn't insufferable and is funny as fuck, look no further than Chapo Trap House.

EconTalk.

Red Ice Radio
Radio3Fourteen

>interesting
>Sam Harris

Good taste mate

>Hardcore History
the intro is so cringey
if he just got rid of the retarded voice over it'd be fine

this. I remember a few months ago dan started to shit on hillary and backed down because the lesbians were onstage.

I love harmontown

Chapo Trap House and The Scumbag! are both pretty good.

I've been listening to The History of China with Laszlo Montgomery. As has been mentioned before In Our Time is great. After that the only regular stuff I follow is the Partially Examined Life guys.

All the major podcasts are free to download except for their really old stuff. But if you want all of their shit and want it add free just pay for it. It literally only costs 16.6 cents a day.

Threads like this are why we need a board specifically for podcasts. I want to discuss podcasts, but no other board seems appropriate for them, so I have to wait for random threads like these.

this but avoid his philosophy stuff. he shuns any non-empiricist

i like this too

This might be the worst list of anything ever compiled.

Is Common Sense good? I like HH, but I don't know if I care about Carlin's political opinions.

A board specifically for podcasts would be sooooo fucking dead.

Red Ice was cooler when it was more about aliems than veiled racist banter.

I feel like it would pretty quickly turn into a collection of podcast generals, but I can imagine browsing it.

My Dad Wrote a Porno.

Have you listened to Sinica? It's the 10/10 China podcast for sure.

The Bone Zone. Funniest podcast on the market

megustalations

Anyone got recommendations for literature podcasts? I don't want history podcasts, I don't want philosophy podcasts, and I don't want literature podcasts that only focus on modern (i.e 21st century) shit.

Something which focuses on specific movements and authors each episode would be good.

Last podcast on the left
Generation Why
Thinking sideways

The Dick Show
Joe Rogan Podcast (very powerful)

I've listened to many episodes of Put Your Hands Together and I couldn't tell you one joke by Cameron Esposito. It's just a big blur of mentioning her hair, her sexuality and her jean jacket, and the words "I mean" and "you guys".

based sneijder choking out roaches

If is allowed to survive, then so should a podcast board.

Reply All
More Perfect
Astonishing Legends
Invisibilia
Song Exploder
Comedy Bang Bang

More Perfect was pretty good. They are a little libcuck though, especially their "legal editor" or advisor or whatever his title is

What if I'm against both?

Also, say what you will about pol, but it's pretty active.

he said po not pol

Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast

Probably. But there are several boards here that are more or less unknown. I've seen some that have threads that were started in like 2010. Crazy shit

leftist cucks ladies and gentlemen

do you even care if anyone would visit it, you fucking retard

or should it exist just cuz "kill all oppression reeeee libertas veritas egalite"?

Not him, but bro I like pol and I don't even know what you're trying to say

The Warnerd Podcast is also pretty good. It's done by a former professor at Berkeley and poet who's been writing articles on US foreign policy and other conflicts since the late 90s.

Good to know that Veeky Forums has at least one other Grey Wolf. Death To The Traitor Gülen.

are they being ironic about this?
gülen did literally nothing wrong

Nah it's better now that they are dealing with real, factual issues.

FANFAR, LORD OF FLAMES DISAGREES.

He really hates papercraft

and he spends an hour ranting before he gets to the guest, bad part is he has good points but then goes off into paranoid sjw-out-to-get-me land

All you need to know is that Jonah Leher was best friends with the younger one and had a ton of segments.
Radiolab is entertaining until you listen to an episode even 10% related to something you know about already. Then you realize how manipulated and fake a lot of their research is. (Also the Yellow Rain shitshow.)

Way better, but another one that's good as long as you don't come in knowing about the topic. Facts are true, his takes on them are often questionable the closer to the present he gets.

Oh, the intro is my favorite part. I'd buy an audiobook of him reading those essays.

>For actual leftist commentary that isn't insufferable
Doesn't exist. Leftists are by nature sanctimonious pseuds

k

>white people talking about who they vote for
sure is no lie

I like this quirky little gem called Welcome to Nightvale, have you Veeky Forumsizens heard of it? It's so random but so deep! ALL HAIL GLOW CLOUD! xD just Nightvale being random again!

Which ones?

The Tolkien Professor is great if you like Tolkien's works

kcrw - bookworm is the only decent one.

Hilarious, user. There. You got the (you) you wanted now fuck off back to your smegma-encrusted cave.

seconding HoPw/oaG
Peter Adamson is husbandotier

Has the podcast Lit Up been better ever...I could barely make it through the episode witht he author of Homegoing...the Australian (Gould ditched I guess) spoke in condescending hushed tones the whole time and asked the author if her ancestors were slaves...

Number One worst book interview podcast is Other Ppple...guy is such a lazy shit, feel bad authors get pressured to go on there.

Only actual decent literature podcast is bookworm. Silverblatt is stunning and you can see that the authors love going there

What would be good is a Your Must Remember This type podcast about writers...a lot of historical/cultural context is missing if a book is less than 50 years old or you aren't reading good biographies.

okay

Has anyone listened to the Too Many Books podcast?

just listened to an episode and it was not bad

You talk about our shit over there, or are you all Turks?
By the way, AKP supporters are not Grey wolves, those are islamic nationalists (altho nowadays most of them support AKP's actions, because AKP kills kurts and because their leader is basically AKP's bitch now)

uhh yeah dude is the best podcast

man 2010. they were simpler times.

Studies in pessimism by Schoppy is on there by Librivox

Pretty well read, just listen to a bunch of it on my daily two hour walk just like the meister himself did desu

...

>hur durr leftist cuck /pol/ faggots the GOAT ya hear me the GOAT, i am definitely white && not a cuckservative.

Keeshawn, learn to read first faggot.

>libertas
>-as
>veritas

It's Liberté, Fraternité, Egalité, you fucking illiterate. Go back to your containment board.

PEL

some people follow the news

sure, i just didn't think your news would include our stuff so much that there would be podcasts about them

Chapo Trap House is about American politics, pretending to be Turkish ultranationalists who hate Gulen is a meme for them

i see, though it is mostly AKP fans who actually supported Gülen before 2013 that really, really, really hate Gülen. Other people view them as the same shit as all other political Islamists.
