Those are themes that appeal to the "first existential crisis" babys.

You got me. Please have mercy.

>in the hunter gatherer days something hyperpsychopathic was actually ok dude lmao
>somehow ignoring the fact that people in the past in general and hunter gatherer societies in particular practiced grassroots justice and you'd be banished or murdered for even suggesting that

Materialists are toilet tier.

>>Nietzsche was an optimist
>>Nietzsche was a Christian

This is mostly true though...

I'd say it's rather love and death

>something hyperpsychopathic
What does that mean?

If someone is a nominal Christian and optimist - whether they had an upbringing that would qualify as such, or just came up during a time when these themes were widely supported - and they then go on to make a career of eliminating the influence of both these traditions from the world, it's only right to question the nature of his convictions and motives of his philosophy.

Im just being a thinking human being here. No conspiracy intended.

>I think the Bible is well-written

What literary merit does the Bible have?

>I'm too redpilled to read the women and non whites listed by Bloom in The Western Canon.

I mean, the Ten Commandments are quite morally sound and it doesn't exactly preach harm.

>What literary merit does the Bible have?

The bible is the most read book on earth.

>confusing 15k-5k b.c. law of the land with 400k bc anarchic primativism.
You are both retarded. I wish we could cull real time debaters before they are born.

>>I'm an atheist

>I create and post threads on Veeky Forums.

>most read equates to most literary value
DAE think fault in our stars is the best book of the 21st century?!

it is

just because a character dies it doesn't mean "death" is a major theme of the work. In any case, since all Comedies and Tragedies by their classical definitions are going to violate your terms, I'll submit that most Comedies of Manners probably don't heavily involve sex or death.

Is this a joke? How about the massive impact it's had on Western Civilisation ever since the Romans switched to it from Paganism? Fucking retard.

>he's not a poptimist

> "Literary value"

>I'm an atheist, so I don't need to read the Quran

I had a guy tell me once that it's pointless to read literature if you're not going to practically apply it to your life.

just because nee she acknowledged that religion had benefits doesn't mean he was religious

To be honest, nobody needs to read the bible.

You don't have the right to present your religion as a legitimate alternative viewpoint, because it is provably made-up superstition and you chop and change it as you please.

It would be easier to answer the question "What literary merit does the bible lack."

The answer to that question is absolutely none. It's an epic that encompasses the whole of the human experience.

The Quran is just bible fanfic. It's definitely worth a read as well but the old and new testaments probably constitute the most important works of literature in human history. Only the Vedas can compare in depth and scope, but they can't come close to claiming the same level of historical impact which the bible has had.

being an atheist is fine but being an idiot is not acceptable.

Yes, I love the genealogy in the books of Chronicles. Absolutely riveting.

And the dictation man.

I just can't get enough of being told what to do.

>being this mad because someone questioned the Bible's value as literature
Deus vult am I right fellas?

>Implying it isn't white people who complain about le dead white males.

Poetry is pound-for-pound more complex.
Joyce is a poet btw, and if he couldv'e into'd line breaks he'd be even better.

>Complex = good

>plebs like complexity

>reading for enjoyment

Who the fuck says those last two?

There aren't egoistic fascists now, are there?

>I listen to Bloom, and give a damn about the Western Canon

>and you chop and change it as you please.
That's a good thing you mongoose.
