I bought some Willa Cather at the dollar store the other day
-ditches
-dumpsters
-book drops
-schools
-libraries
-waiting rooms
-parked cars
-private residences
-college campuses
-street displays I front of bookshops
-behind thrift stores in donation carts
-on trains and buses being read by earthy twenty somethings with thick framed glasses
-on beaches or in parks being read by old red angry men with inflated bellies and aging women who are so lonely they will at some point get a dog and train it to fuck them
The library!
No seriously. Libraries are always giving away old books.
this
they usually take trades aswell, i wanted to get rid of few shitty books, gave 10 books to get pic related, some are pretty old, The dubliners for instance, is a 1976 edition but it is very fucking cheap and in totally readable
Dumpster behind half price books usually has a few gems.
>walking down street
>see a bookstore
>there are books on shelves outside
>"oh if they're outside they must be free"
>take a few that looked interesting
>later learned that they were actually not free
I feel bad, should I return them?
Probably. I ordered Ada, or Ardor last week on Amazon and today a second copy just showed up. I guess they thought the other one got lost in the mail.
Charity shops. I got 4 books for £2 today.
Check if anything you like has a Penguin edition. I buy new Penguin books from a multimedia store at like 3€ each. Occasionally I find Oxford Classics for like 6-7€ but they're usually more.
Oy vey!
XD
;P
Reading don quijote in bastardized castillian is sacrilege, and should punished with death.
