So what the hell is going on with this poster?

So what the hell is going on with this poster?

If it's an earth size planet with the death star in orbit around it, there no way then their is no way it would look that big... At least in a stable orbit.

If it's in orbit around the Death Star it shouldn't have an atmosphere

It's made by some artist who has no clue about physics, there you go.

The death star is 120km in diameter and it's mostly hollow

It shouldn't really have any gravity of it's own, should it?

>what is the scientific explaination for this fictional image
fuck off retard

Yet another death star. Star Wars really is a one trick pony. Lame and low energy.

This.

This.

This.

This movie takes place in a time period before the death star was destroyed. And if you'd seen it, it's remarkably different from any of the other movies hitherto released.

It's just to look impressive and generally immense.

In the movie it's depiction is a lot more realistic and you can tell it actually looks far away. The real cool part is watching it fire. When the beam impacts it's target, it kicks up a lot of debris. and by a lot of debris i mean it kind of fucks up the crust of the planet, plowing up massive amounts of land.

>DS1 (@120km): 678525000000000000 Kg

6.78525x10^17 Kg for Deathstar 1 mass

It's not even 1% the weight of some of Jupiter's smallest moons.

The thing would have literally inconsequential gravity inherited by its own mass.

Check out compression of field: basically stand far away and use a huge zoom lens.

Reality: this is just art.

Also: do not confuse size with mass. The former looks gargantuan, only the latter relates to gravity.

>what is a telelphoto lens

Long lenses magnify distant objects more than close-up ones. Pic related

It looks pretty. Shut up. And it's a cool idea.

The lower half of the poster looks much worse. It looks like a high schooler photoshopped it.

This. That scene was the coolest effect in the movie. It looked like the debris was going to impact the Death Star.

It's just called artistic license.

Lol every1 noes theres no black ppl in the civil war

How many times are they going to make the same movie and idiots will pay for it?

You have autism. Seriously, who nitpicks a fucking theatrical poster like this? Stop sperging out over NOTHING and get the fuck out of here.

So I have autism, so I found a 3d model of the death star and put it into orbit of the earth in Celestia. Using a 120 km in diameter death star and a semi-major axis of 6730 km.

This is what it looks like

and this is what it looks like when directly overhead. A bit more impressive.

Most likely the Death Star is resting of the surface of the planet or it's a movie and artists are fucking assholes

Until you stop giving them your money.

It is hard to get a feeling of comparison without any familiar references. If you add our Moon to the background it will be easier to grasp.

It's not actally the death star, it's a force ghost of the death star.
