Sadly, there are no real alternatives to lit. For all its elitism, and memes, and racism, it's the only internet place I've found where you're able to have real time discussions about literature with some actual substance. This couldn't exist on reddit or goodreads. I kinda believe that a big reason for this is that the bad qualities keeps a lot of 'pleb' individuals away. You really do need some internet savviness to push through the filth and fibd the acually worthwhile content

I'm thinking this may include cutting some of the extremely niche boards with very slow traffic. As much as I'd love to see boards like /pol/ or /r9k/ cut, they do serve their place as containment boards and without them their filth would seep into other boards even more than it already does.
