Did I ask for the scientists opinion? I don't pay them to "say" in fact I don't pay them at all.
Why does msm imply anyone asked for the opinions of "sources" "pundits" "experts" and the likes. Don't they get that if they wanted my eyeballs to enter their clickbait realm they would say "click here to ASK A SCIENTIST" Ffs, then I would care what they say.
Carter Thompson
How would they execute the baiting of eyeballs properly now that no one trusts them and their sources anymore?
Jeremiah Gutierrez
quiet you jive turkey
Evan Martinez
Because some journalist who is paid to write about a subject making a suggestion isn't as persuasive as a specialist giving a suggestion. The entire point of the article is to persuade you, and the best way to do that is giving professional insight. I'm sure they picked a scientist who already had similar political beliefs to the writer, but in reality, that doesn't matter when the whole point is just to persuade. And of course you aren't going to be persuaded by it, since you have very different political beliefs and the article targets you. The general public, however, would be more impressionable.
Also, how do I unsubscribe from this shitty blog again?

>Did I ask for the scientists opinion? No but you should get it anyway you fact-denying republican scum
Alexander Young
WHY DOES THE SYSTEM THINK MY DISSERTATION IS SPAM.
Wrote a lot
Nolan Jones
What makes you think Republican? The article is about Veeky Forums. They will happily sharpen their stereotype blade and cleave/ sci/chos along with the alt right. Just because your here.
Joseph Nelson
they left out that its social """scientists"""
Dylan Powell
>fact-denying Republican Illegals cost money, that's a fact.
Samuel Nguyen
Been there done that with religious "scientists" and every major news broadcaster in the US and I'm still here. Not that Trumpeteers would know anything about Veeky Forums history...
Jeremiah Morales
Yeah especially when you give them a private plane back to their home country instead of just letting them work and pay taxes.
Illegals (and legal immigrants) depress wages. That's why working people hate them, and businessmen keep hiring them.
Jaxon Russell
There are some banned words on the spam filter, I really really really wish they'd provide a list.
The spam filter can suck my dick frankly but still.
>Calling out articles for using scientists as an authority on politics is now right or left wing Fuck off, retard.
Asking a scientists about his opinion on politics is the same quantitative thing as asking a journalist their opinion on climate change. A broken clock is right two times a day, but they wouldn't be able to comprehensibly quantify why they're right (if they even are).
All in all this is most likely some journalism major's way to use "le smart smienstism people's opinions" as a plea to authority.
My campus news paper asked me my opinion on Trump winning the election as a Canadian. I told that interviewen lady that "the only letters I need are R, C, and -1/12 and that I is a mathemitimaticianing person and I isn't an opinion on no new fangled politics."
Politics is for plebs, and STEM majors shouldn't concern themselves with macro-internet drama.

Lmao that is autism

80% of top Physicists come from Russia
Russians like Trump
Trump is therefore the pick for anyone who actually contributes anything worthwhile to science, as opposed to some retard who got his PhD by counting butterflies.
Brody Sanchez
Let's take a brief moment to enjoy some irony.
> call people communist as insult > advocate becoming Russia's bitch
Cooper Cruz
Since this is a Trump thread, what's with all the whining about Rick Perry bringing physics funding down to Bush levels?
Joshua Bailey
>fact-denying republican scum
Ryder Roberts
>fact-denying republican ..said the bubble kid

>russian hacks >a fact
The leaker of the emails confirmed it wasn't russia. It was a DNC insider.
Also: >BAWWW THOSE EVIL HACKERS EXPOSED HILLARY'S CORRUPTION AND THAT MADE TRUMP WIN
Are you implying Hillary's corruption should have been hidden?
You're a literal fascist.
Eli Cruz
Veeky Forums and other imageboards (if you remove mods) are my freedoms.
Josiah Barnes
You sound upset :^)
Also retarded. Internet "news" "publications" make (dirt cheap) clickbait articles designed for social media sharing in order to drive ad revenue to fund the few real articles they make (articles that actually involve paying staff to perform original research and typically are not anywhere near profitable).
This is not just a problem with mainstream media, it is a problem with all media. Seeing that you're being clickbaited by unresearched articles or re-reporting (e.g. "this other news site reported [insert story here]") is difficult when you're the target demographic.
A bigger problem is that marketing has become so efficient that nowadays most people don't see articles outside of their own demographic unless they're only being shared due to outrage (OP being triggered by that article is a prefect example, you can bet there are thousands more like him sharing the shit out of that on Facebook because they're "SO MAD").
Seriously OP, you are a fucking moron and should be banned for shitting up Veeky Forums with this clickbait garbage.
Kayden Ward
>When your party is so out of touch and led by people so old and stupid, they actually start another Red Scare to explain why they lost their core constituents instead of actually focusing on why they lost CAN YOU ACTUALLY GIVE EVIDENCE Russia did shit in our elections, barring any minor things like Putin saying something or the Russians celebrating Trump's victory? Or are you too fucking stupid to realize that this is just a stupider, less organized version of the Red Scare?
Adam King
The point is you have to. Nerds need to join forces so the world doesn't get destoryed. Togeather nerds have more power than any world goverment.
Really I don't understand why we don't. Nerds made all the weapons, tech and etc. Yet someone else profited off it and used it to there means. So we just need a solution to keep it in our hands. So rise and fight nerds it's our time. The ones who made the world are the ones who should be in power.
In short if the nerds do not keep nerding the world is fucked.
Scientists should remind them about
Ryan Adams
Also out of context but you get the idea.
Daniel Brown
But he's right. Biased, politicised, and opinionated science is no science at all, and bad reporting doesn't help. In this case, the reporter spun the statements of the interviewed research team (YouTube videos linked on /pol/ experience a rise in hate comments, surprise surprise!) into inflammatory bullshit designed to grab views.
The concept behind 'post-truth' is as old as sensationalist politics and media itself. Trump was just ahead of the curve.
Oliver White
>the opinions of "sources" "pundits" "experts" ...none of whom are scientists. Lrn2science fgt pls
Owen Miller
Did anyone here actually read the article The researchers didn't share their opinion They basically came up with a different way to block hate speech
But yes, the website has a shitty clickbait title
Robert Cook
