I hope that guy isn't really holding mercury.
Why?
It's probably gallium.
It can be absorbed through the skin.

Only a very tiny insignificant amount, unless you have a wound
Totally pointless and way cool!
That was neat.
I think people get too worked up when it comes to mercury. Like fillings with amalgam are not that bad and help protect your teeth much more than those resin composites.
Why is mercury in its liquid state in room temperature?
I never had this question, so I did some reading just now. The answer is very interesting,

Apparently, the outer electrons are not very reactive because they spend a lot of time close to the nucleus.
They stay close to the nucleus because they are moving too fast and are experiencing relativistic effects (i.e. they seem more massive than they are).
Very cool!
this is one of the gayest posts I've ever read
I like you, user
So if you brushed your teeth with mercury it would actually be beneficial for your health?
Suck my dick.
That's nice to know next time I have a diarrhea after eating spicy mercurry.

I know you are just asking a dumb question, but the reason amalgam is better is because it lasts much longer than resin composites.
Amalgam can easily last 10 years without cracking or having gaps where caries can form.
The resin composites will crack much sooner and your tooth will experience very bad decay as bacteria sneaks into the crevices and eats your tooth from under the filling.
