Well. it's related, as an alternative to science that is more acceptable to people with certain religious beliefs. It is a shame the phrase got co-opted by YAC folks trying to remove science from science classes in schools. The concept that there was a designer of the universe who set it up to run along certain lines, and that we can use the process of science to understand how it works, would have been a useful one for erasing the false concept of a war between religion and science..
