fuck off sebastian and fuck your ugly ass face

no

goodreads.com/user/show/7040816-clifford-sargent

I got memed into Ulysses, and am thoroughly enjoying it at the moment.

Like 90% of the users on that site are literal pseudointellectual tryhards. The recommendation system isn't even accurate. Half the time it pushes the most shitty mainstream authors available, like James Patterson and Stephen King.

Sorry, user. I disabled my account long ago.

>fuck off sebastian and fuck your ugly ass face

The medical term for your condition is "Arier-Neid".

>The recommendation system isn't even accurate. Half the time it pushes the most shitty mainstream authors available, like James Patterson and Stephen King.

This never happens, what were your reading?

>Dec 25, 2011

>you read and fully understood Ulysses having spent less than 5 years reading it

>This never happens
>"Herp derp, never happened to me, so I guess you're lying!"

Why would you waste a perfectly good (You) on this shit tier bait, user?

bored

it never happens tho
got curious too
what books were you reading

What for? I already have the only knowledgeable user there: Manny

>Manny

kek

>that feel when someone unfriends you because of one of your ratings

goodreads.com/user/show/57922091-william

>arbitrarily redefines "industriousness" be be inversely related to economic specialization, which is well documented to increase as a direct result of increasing economic development
Yeah ok Jared

GR recommend shit based on what you read or who are your friends, so yes you too are a tryhard psud.

i use it mainly to keep track of what ive read.
>someone asks me what ive read in the past year
>uhhh

>look on goodreads later
>oh shit yeah thats right
i might have minor autism

That's what the internet does to you. According to a study, extensive online use makes the brain adapt to the reality that it doesn't need to remember everything anymore, when the necessary information can be obtained through google anytime. Which is why committing less relevant information to long-term memory is becoming increasingly difficult.

bump

Which book was it?

bumping

>Arier
>that Monobraue

Hans-Murat, don't kid yourself.

I've just stalked some people on goodreads that are from Veeky Forums
specially their profile pics

pretty spooky desu

In case it wasn't obvious, not very many people on Veeky Forums use this shit site. Disruptively bumping your thread isn't going to make more Goodreads users come rushing out of the woodwork.

Do you know Zizekian?

no, I don't know anyone from Veeky Forums and I haven't added any of them on my goodreads, I was just curious what kind of people posted here.

Hmm. I've added about 40 people from these threads in the past, and if this post is true then most of Veeky Forums has made an account at some point.

>goodreads.com/user/show/57922091-william
Is this a fucking joke? Are you like the vaporwave of Veeky Forums?

Looks legit,
start with the Greeks.
(btw, nice comment, ill give it two stars.)

Everybody has at least one GR person they hate.

Or want to fuck.

goodreads.com/user/show/51635060-niko

I've always wondered, what does Veeky Forums offer someone who has read as much as you Sebastian?

I doubt Veeky Forums can recommend you stuff you haven't read or heard about, and there is little thoughtful discussion

do you just come here for the memes?

So lit, who'd you pick?

goodreads.com/blog/show/728-8-book-characters-you-wish-could-run-for-president

goodreads.com/hacklasoul

Always open for recommendations and talking!

goodreads.com/user/show/22494004-anna

Always up for new connections though it seems the same people are always in these threads.

I've been trying to review the non-fiction books I read but I've been lazy recently. I don't know how Hadrian does it, I wish I was smart. I don't even bother reviewing novels etc because it's too subjective and also not in my wheelhouse.

I'm always looking for obscure war memoirs and stuff like that.

I will forever remain user until I myself read 2000 books before the age of 30

Wtf Sebastian I have like 15 books in my goodreads.

>obscure war memoirs
i have a friend you would be good friends with. he pretty much basically only reads war memoirs.
also, i highly recommend naked economics.

My thoughts exactly desu
Plus I have a hard time coming up with a decent rating system so I'm sure others will judge me for giving Loleeta 3 stars for example
Fuck ratings

goodreads.com/user/show/48978923-anomander-rake

There's a Veeky Forumsizen on my friendly list who has a good rating system ive now adopted

copy paste because im lazy

"I use Goodreads for its recommendations system, and I don't think there's any point to rating books on a scale. Thus I give five stars to books if I want to continue reading works of a similar yarn, three stars to books I am indifferent towards, and one star to books I do not want to get recommendations based on.

In my written reviews I will give a short summary instead of a score"

friends* list, im on my phone

goodreads.com/user/show/35191154-tyler

L-let's be f-friends...

>Plus I have a hard time coming up with a decent rating system

How fucking hard can it be?

5 stars - loved it, a masterpiece.
4 stars - excellent, liked it a lot.
3 stars - okay, but has undeniable flaws.
2 stars - pretty bad, but not without some redeeming points
1 star - shit

goodreads.com/user/show/32386530-andre

>5 stars - loved it, a masterpiece.
>4 stars - excellent, liked it a lot.
>3 stars - okay, but has undeniable flaws.
>2 stars - pretty bad, but not without some redeeming points
>1 star - shit
Exactly how I use it.

Don't fret over ratings you guys, it goes just like this:

5 stars - woooooo
4 stars - yeeaaahh
3 stars - hmmmm
2 stars - eehhhhh
1 star - hnnngghhh

1 = Absolutely terrible
2 = Wouldn't generally recommend
3 = Pretty decent
4 = Very good
5 = Personal favourite

Your mom seem to have given me a 4 star rating last night.

5 stars - i enjoyed it a huge deal
4 stars - i enjoyed it but certain things bothered me
3 stars - it was pretty meh
2 stars - it was shit
1 star - i couldn't even finish it so i'm not going to rate it so this never gets used unless someone in my book group makes me read the most interminable book ever

I know of you are already my friends on goodreads. I have more friends there than facebook...however I'm very private about fb. still, some of you seem pretty cool although most of you are young peoples.

>35 yo
holy fuck gramps what are you doing here

goodreads.com/user/show/29831737-pinkyivan
Obligatory

chillin. baitin. keepin up with the current Veeky Forums memes. no...but seriously I like talking about books. only a few of my friends are into literature. most are into genre fiction. this place is nice. I hate the format of reddit. been on Veeky Forums too long to change now I guess.

Both my grandfathers were in the SS and they had to do something called "Ariernachweis" and passed. I am a state certified aryan!

>German/10 would drink Oettinger Pils with.

>>German/10 would drink Oettinger Pils with.

I am actually drinking Oettinger right now and I cant sleep, it was a strange day. I was chilling at my homy kiosk and some ugly egypt women sat next to me and sometimes later her fat turk boyfriend came around and wanted to face fuck me ONLY IN GERMANY: Later I went out to get new Oettinger and a 45 year old polish hag forced me to change number with her, but she told me she thinks I am a fat ugly fuck and wants only be friends with me, whatever, she paid for my beers and gave me cigarettes, thanks weird polish women. I know why I dont go out on weekends, Tuesday is weird enough.

Well shucks ... Y-you too? Let's go out sometime?

goodreads.com/user/show/4762834-george

Trump won lads, I prayed my most effective rosary last night.

I always lurk but never post in these threads because lit will make fun of me for not having read enough books

How many have you read? If it's >50 literally nobody will care, if it's

exactly 50, i am doomed

I'm way too far from your country, sorry

...

goodreads.com/user/show/36068965-dominik-tkal-ec

hmu lads

Why did you rate Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler Mein Kampf as 1 star? Why only 3 stars for Best Served Cold and Childhood's End ?

What did you like about The Knife of Never Letting Go ? The concept was ok but the writing style was unreadable

>22 books
are you even Veeky Forums?

>An unexpected letdown. Atmospheric, but empty with descriptions that after a while become either redundant or confusing, plot of a 80s action flick and characters that have no 'soul'.
>I find it funny, but some Horus Heresy novels were much better.

I use the goodreads rating scale

Im sure you are a fun guy but Im not joining this club of weirdos. My only account has RL contacts in it and I have to many books in it to make a second one for Veeky Forums firends

Yeah, Neuromancer is trash.

>someone adds me
>comment
>realise the person is not from lit
Fuck

how do you know?

if this is legit then I love your reviews, keep up the good work

mine: goodreads.com/arthur-grunenwald

when will you stop making these pathetic threads and kill yourself?

Sheesh, and I thought my country was strange.

goodreads.com/user/show/11129358-n

My timing is downright silly. I started an retelling of the Scarlet letter as the election results started pouring in.

Dude no one cares if you have irl friends added, some people have their location posted too. Veeky Forums is more or less chill, at least compared to other boards.

Where from? There's always goodreads, at least.

So whatever happened to the book club idea? Could be fun to read something with y'all.

Everyone reads at a different pace and reads their own things.

goodreads.com/user/show/51467241-patrick

I'm already friends with most of you, I think.

How is Black Lamb and Grey Falcon? I'm thinking of reading it soon

Yeah, hey GR group mods, assign us another book to read senpais!

It's incredible. Fantastic prose delivering fascinating information. My only complaint is that the dialogue is a little silly, but that's to be expected in a book of its sort. I haven't read any of it in a while because my limited time would make reading something so long torturous, but I'll probably read the rest of it around Christmas.

If you want a book club, join the Discord.

Made a goodreads account earlier in the year to remember what I have read.

I don't really live up to Veeky Forums standards but you can add me if you don't mind being friends with a casual.
