Most Veeky Forums language?

So the 4 year college I'm going to requires me to take a year of a foreign language, so which language is the best in terms of literature ?

russian because that's what i'm taking.

English>Russian>German>Spanish>French>Ancient Greek>Latin>Portuguese>Idk

...

hiberno-judaeic creole desu

>Ancient Greek over Latin
well meme'd

don't want to meme but it's Japanese

They have the greatest amount of quality culture untainted by modern western "morals".

Greek
German
Latin
Russian
French
Spanish
English
Danish

>Spanish over french
>no italian
>english over german
You must be pretty stupid :)

German is an obvious choice, given it was basically the most important literary language before English took over. Also it's rather easy to learn if English is your mother language.

Similarly greek and latin are good choices for the same reason.

Russian and Chinese are both good choices too, given how many people speak it.

I'm sorry, but Greek is superior in both æsthetics and in literature.

>French over spanish
>German over english
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha nice ironic autism

I'll admit I completely forgot about italian tho

I genuinely think Japanese is the most

sonorous language*

no pass nonsense

this

but I also speak German and Latin

I forgot about Italian too, it seems. Put it above Spanish.

it'll take you much longer to get good enough at Russian to read their lit.

Spanish or french is easy and their lit is nothing to turn your nose up at.

Irish too. Too bad basically every other oriental language sounds like a bird singing into a pig's loose asshole.

>Irish

Don't learn this one

but i'm 1/128th irish

Isn't it a pain in the ass that you have to learn their three alphabets first before you can read their shit?

why danish?

>three alphabets
Never talk about languages again.

Whatever the word is for them. Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji.

And you can't stop me

don't respond to me or my son ever again

I know you think you're funny by posting worst girl but you're not funny.

Had the same requirement, took french
>love it
Just finished Madame Bovary
About to start Sous le soleil de Satan

>worst
How does it feel to be a pleb enslaved to ressentiment?

I don't know it. Regardless, it and the Celtic languages are radically different from Romantic and Germanic languages. They're sing-songy because they're more syllabic or something.

1. Portuguese
2. Latin
3. Catalan
4. Polish

Deutsche

In no particular order German, Russian, Japanese, Classical Chinese, Ancient Greek

All weeb memes aside, I truly do think Japanese is a very pretty language and definitel worth your time but something like German is gonna have a lot more diverse novels/philosophy written in it

Just learn Spanish. You can learn all of the basic grammar rules in a few months and start reading. It's probably the simplest language I've ever studied. I was able to fluently read after about a year and a half, although I still struggle with older works, which is a shame because modern Spanish literature is awful (inb4 Borges/Marquez/Sabato)
