I'm not sure I understand what this picture is trying to say, but I'm convinced it's something very fucking stupid.

Whats wrong with Darwin? It was my understanding his ideas are still the basis of biology

It's one of those heartland America Facebook memes. You're supposed to think evolution is a lie peddled by the Kenyan socialist atheist president who wants to steal your guns.

That's how dumb it is.

>American Heartland
not
>American Pulmonary Embolism

Yes, we are living in the age of the German idealist revival.

He's a lot like Freud. Darwin is the father of modern evolution but his ideas become more outdated over time.

Schelling and Fichte sales must be skyrocketing.

>mfw I unironically downloaded a bunch of Hölderlin pdfs because of this video

What video?

Hello, newman

Here's the romantic version

>Darwin created evolution by banging science.

Unfortunately in his old age Darwin became infertile so no new species will be made soon.

Now that I think about it, he looks a bit like a mixture of Seinfeld and Costanza.

Some speculate that he is a jewish Amazon operative, tasked with memeing people into ordering a bunch of expensive rare books...

Those illiterate fatburgers in the background thinking German Idealism is Nazism piss me off more than the trumptard desu.

I wonder about this guy...

What is his training? What did he see in his readings of Fichte that caused him to conclude that he was a fascist?

I see an opportunity here to make the public read.

nothing. he's probably never even heard of dialectics. he was just assuming that the association of german idealism with trump was true, then extrapolated from this the association of fichte with fascism

This guy might be the best troll of 2016 besides Trump himself. People actually think he's serious.

We are in the midst of a Hegel revival. Coinciding as it does work the collapse of neoliberal superstructuralism, we should expect Marx to be back in the popular discourse within the year. Read up on Capital, stooges.

>What about Fichte? Do you know him?
>Yeah, yeah... He's a fascist!
As you can see in the above quote, he clearly claimed familiarity with the works of Johann Gottlieb Fichte.

I'm just trying to understand his reading here...

Marx is always relevant to popular discourse, lad.

I wouldn't say that. Freud opened the field with a bunch of out there ideas based of his own childhood and intrepretation of couple of cases. Most of his ideas proved to be wrong but they did jump-start psychotherapy.

Darwin on another hand was genius. If you actually read his book you'd be fasinated how accurate his conclusions were. A lot of thing he thought get proven by modern biology. He wasn't some sap who stumbled on a something that turned out to be right. The dude was basically a Newton of biology (minus the whole Leibniz thing).

Ouch dude, I still want to live in this world.

not really they've only become more nuanced and better understood. Really for how little he knew about genetics and cells its amazing how much he got right.

Also freud and marx aren't dead they're the foundation for hundreds of things.

well, Fichte did think that Jews shouldn't be given civil rights because they posed a threat to the German nation
who knows if that guy actually read any Fichte though, I feel like he was just responding to a German name

>his ideas are still the basis of biology

the bodies of dead and extinct organisms contribute equally to the chemical processes of the biomes of those not yet dead or extinct
