Yes. The moon is closer (to me anyway, I live in the US) than Everest. Jupiter is a false positive. You're not actually seeing another planet when you look at it through a telescope. It may look like it, but it's not. It's an effect of the bouyancy of the atmosphere on certain stars.

If the edge of the circle is covered in ice which is why we dont have ships constantly sailing over the edge.
And the sun is pointing down directly on the circle. Then why is there ice in the middle? Wouldnt the middle be the hottest part of the planet?
