Jung

Is Jungian psych pure bullshit, useful mythology, spot fucking on, or useful but inferior to other psych systems?

lacan or bust

It's useful for writing.

Some of the first and some of the last

He definitely had some great insight into our drive for storytelling

There's some good stuff in there, but Jung is definitely not the end-all-be-all of psychology.

Where to start with Lacan

Is it even proper to call Jung a psychologist? He seems like more of a mythologist/ philosopher, though he focused, it seems, less on typical philosophical pursuits and more on specific questions relating to the human experience.

>Where to start with Lacan

zizek's "how to read lacan"

jung said all americans are part n word

This and "Lacan: A Beginner's Guide" by Lionel Bailly

Do you know where one can find his thoughts about archetypes in stories, specifically Märchen?

>when the jouissance kicks in

It is very proper to call Jung a psychologist, psychiatrist, and psychoanalyst. If you actually read the volumes of Jung's Collected Works this will be clear.

Jung was the one who returned to the United States again and again to lecture and defend psychoanalysis, not Freud.

it's fun

Doesn't mean his theory isn't neo-pagan bullshit

HEC enculés !

Jung's writings on the shadow, for instance, are not meant as nice theories to discuss in the salon. They're meant to help the individual integrate that shit and move on to better problems.

That is a shit intro. It's one big digression away from Lacan.

...

Yeah but its only like fourteen pages

If you actually want to be educated read Jung and try to understand him.

If you want to be a dangerous Stalinist, read Lacan.

I don't think that you've ever taken the time to properly read Jung without any preconceived conceptualization of what it's "actually" about. Your statement doesn't contain any content.

>If you actually want to be educated read Jung

This is some seventh dimension ideology going on here

>muh ideology

Kill yourself Marxist.

Not that guy, but Jung is a bit tough to read without preconceived notions if you've ever read anything about him.

read jung as if he was a fiction writer. it's enjoyable reading his work and hearing him speak. if you take him seriously he's basically an intellectual new-age guru.
also psychology is a pseudoscience. although you have the rare few psychologists who have a good understanding of the human condition and are good at helping people, as jung apparently was.
