>Nobody can read his theories >not even when the worlds greatest mathmaticians gather at Oxford >never does interviews >never leaves japan >didn't actually publish his work
Why is it not more likely hes insane and we should ignore him than that hes some super genius? Does Occams razor not apply here?
He didn famous work before, that's why people respect him
Wyatt Baker
>He didn famous work before, that's why people respect him >He is the leader of and main contributor to anabelian geometry; his contributions include a solution of the Grothendieck conjecture in anabelian geometry about hyperbolic curves over number fields. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinichi_Mochizuki
Ethan Foster
>>never does interviews Can anyone find a video of him or new pictures?
Liam Cruz
Some people just want to do their field and are not doing it for fame or to talk to anyone. He probably just wants to do man.
Wyatt Morgan
As a fellow Asperger (something he clearly has), I perfectly understand this and only really commune with others via anonymous chat services.
Anthony James
>He probably just wants to do man. You think he homo?
Jason Garcia
I wonder why you didn't interpret that 50/50 typo correctly, especially given the context
Xavier Taylor
he's not working for fame, when he'll make a great discovery in his field he'll become famous
Blake Roberts
>typo Look at his manly arms. 50/50 you would bend on your knees gagging his big meaty cock while he lectures you on the étale theta function.

don't act like you don't know what that user is talking about, you dirty boy
Dylan Smith
>Nobody can read his theories not true, at least a few mathematicians have verified his work
James Nelson
I was aking same thing before. The guy is a meme. Does not exist. A group of mathematicians trolling you.
Parker Brown
Probably just a freudian slip
Nolan Baker
I wonder if that ever actually happened, just a group of mathematicians willfully getting funded for fake math research..
I'd imagine when you are operating at his level of intellect, you can just operate on your own terms. Fuck all the brainlet scum
Cameron Ramirez
>Imaginary mathematicians doing imaginary research
Hudson Smith
>the best user could do was ridicule someone else's poor grammar
Jordan Turner
They first fucked up introducing imaginary numbers. Then slowly all the mathematics became imaginary. Then they came up with imaginary mathematicians (see Bourbaki). Now >>Imaginary mathematicians doing imaginary research
Nicholas Perez
>never does interviews >never leaves japan >didn't actually publish his work Actually smart people would conclude that this man is a fraud.
Mason White
Really though, has any real math been done since fermats last theorem that wasn't a meme?
Bentley Williams
Actually, the expert concensus is that he's probobly wrong
Like, are you brainlets THIS dumb haha, all the smart people have serious ego problems that need to be satisfied by constant attention from the media and interviews
Lucas Wilson
>>didn't actually publish his work What does that mean? He did make them available online. When the review process will be complete the work will eventually be published. He has proved a conjecture of Grothendieck and there is no proof he is a crackpot. bookstore.ams.org/amsip-11 Read the progress report. He has spent a lot of time helping others understand his work. Since he doesn't want to leave Japan and make interviews he is a crackpot? What if he is simply a huge autist and is uncomfortable with people and scared to death of planes?
Jonathan Anderson
damn he is a professional mathematician and he posted two links therefore he must be correct
Charles Powell
what would his IQ be?
Austin Davis
150i.
Joseph Kelly
10 points lower than Grothendieck and Paul Erdos, so something like 190-200 IMO. What did he mean by this?
Michael Moore
I suppose he/she/it meant Mochizuki's IQ is not real.
Noah Walker
you know he actually put the interuniversal geometer meme on his faculty website
Joshua Ward
shirt buttoned to the top confirms
Colton Turner
>Does Occams razor not apply here? OP does not understand ontological parsimony.
Jason Jackson
lmfao you were just hoping nobody would click on that "source"
utter garbage
David Richardson
here you go >implying you can possibly comprehend grothendieck's iq
Lucas Wood
IQ is not a great measure in the first place, and how could you justify assigning ~200 IQs to celebrity mathematicians, most IQ tests don't even claim to be able to measure such high IQs, so what evidence do you have to back it up, how do you know you're not confusing knowledge with intelligence?
Ayden Sanchez
>Taking that claim seriously.
Mason Harris
>>Nobody can read his theories >As a fellow Asperger (something he clearly has) >What if he is simply a huge autist and is uncomfortable with people All of these are not true. >Fesenko has studied Mochizuki's work in detail over the past year, visited him at RIMS again in the autumn of 2014 and says that he has now verified the proof. (The other three mathematicians who say they have corroborated it have also spent considerable time working alongside Mochizuki in Japan.) >Fesenko says that he warned Mochizuki to be mindful of the experience of another mathematician: the Russian topologist Grigori Perelman, who shot to fame in 2003 after solving the century-old Poincaré conjecture and then retreated and became increasingly estranged from friends, colleagues and the outside world. Fesenko knew Perelman, and saw that the two mathematicians' personalities were very different. Whereas Perelman was known for his awkward social skills (and for letting his fingernails grow unchecked), Mochizuki is universally described as articulate and friendly — if intensely private about his life outside of work. nature.com/news/the-biggest-mystery-in-mathematics-shinichi-mochizuki-and-the-impenetrable-proof-1.18509

Why do retards always assume everybody else has their affliction when they aren't 100% normies. This guy does not have your assburgers you can be a private person and not be 'crazy'
Also the story of Perelman is totally distorted by the media. The real reason he rejected the medal/prize is because some shady Chinese mathematicians tried to hijack his work to get the money. He then realized that promoting money for mathematics was a mistake encouraging the worst kind of people to get into the field just to cash out so he said fuck you.
That and awards/prestige are a bunch of ceremonial bullshit dating back to the days of royal courts. Perelman is not a courtesan so said fuck you to the awards too.
He's also not an autist or any other nonsense, he has a regular job these days working for some chemical corp in Europe doing applied math.

I have no reasonable basis for what the ABC conjecture is.. Really happy for him. That's all
Justin Campbell
>everyone who is a genius has autism!
Brayden Harris
another thing perelman hated was the idea of one solitary person being awarded for just building on everybody else's work, since mathematical advances are a group effort there is no such thing as the solitary genius and when he asked them to split the award between all mathematicians who had contributed to the field they refused and he didn't want to set a precedent of taking an unearned jackpot so refused as well
media and hollywood love the meme of the solitary genius esp the child prodigy who ends up just being a normal math professor somewhere doing normal work everybody else can do
