He takes humanity courses to buff his GPA to cover up his STEM failures

>he takes humanity courses to buff his GPA to cover up his STEM failures

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

tfw OP is a faggot.
Go shitpost on other boards.

t. aforementionedly described brainlet

WHATEVER IT TAKES GODDAMMIT

I mean, it only hurts you in the long wrong. Literally taking a blue pill and saying "everything is okay, see, my GPA is high therefore I'm intelligent!"

>tfw the only non A's I have are humanities classes
"""core curricula""" are gay

I thought OP was funny.

>his humanities courses are trivially easy

the humanities professors at my school will either:
1) make you study obscure grad/PhD level material

2)overload you with sheer work volume

just because they get razzed by the STEM professors for having "easy" courses.

my GPA would be better off if i could just take some 500 level courses in my field instead.

>he doesn't do the bare minimum of coursework to focus on research and get publications

Sometimes this. I took an art history class that has a ridiculous work load - an in depth quiz on 80 pages of reading every week, 6 (1000 word) formal analysi (can't just bullshit these), and 3 tests. It was a 3 credit, level 100 class.

Humanities aren't easy. They make you memorize asinine bullshit.

>Humanities aren't easy

>Humanities aren't easy.

Sorry for not having the motivation or capability to dissect why the patriarchy is hindering research on glaciers, as well as to memorize all 200 genders.

who held the gun to your head and said to do gender studies? Take ancient history, a language course, music theory, or something half useful fuckhead.

>Humanities aren't easy.

Humanities themselves are easy. Humanities professors, though, have near-absolute authority to decide which grade you """deserve""" independently of the actual quality of your work, rigor of your arguments, or strength, substance, and scope of your conclusions.
Say you disagree with the teacher on some issue, or are less socially connected than average, or just sit or walk the wrong way and give off subconscious "hate me" vibes that your veritable "confront all unexamined assumptions; common sense must be questioned!" paragon of an instructor can't be arsed to dissect and overcome? Fucked.
Honestly it gets to where there's no right way in the first place to evaluate, say "straight privilege is being able to reasonably assume that most public figures held up for admiration will share your sexuality." Mention that his GE reqs don't include 8 credits of "U.S. Identities and Differences"

>"his GE reqs don't include 8 credits of "U.S. Identities and Differences" "

mainly because I don't go to Shart-Mart College of some no-name toilet State.

>implying

>independently of the actual quality of your work, rigor of your arguments, or strength, substance, and scope of your conclusions.

this. i've literally had "not an argument" scribbled on one of my papers and knocked down a letter grade.

I performed better in EM than I did in IntroPhil. Fuck Kant with a rake.

>aforementionedly

in such a case as OP describes, that person isn't going to graduate school or employment in the field anyway, so why do you care?

>aforementionedly described

>i've literally had "not an argument" scribbled on one of my papers and knocked down a letter grade.
Lmao what
I thought that rebutting arguments with "not an argument" was just a shitty /pol/ meme

I wrote a paper in high school looking at Gatsby's narcissistic personality disorder and its intimate connection to the novel's unreliable narration and the narrator's eventual, belated disillusionment and contempt as a sort of stand in for the american dream and the lost generation's experience with a costly foreign policy determined by the interests of capital, and got it back with nothing besides "B" and "your 2nd P ignores the central assertion of the novel" written on it. Then, of course, got brushed off and stonewalled every time I tried to ask about it.

Also in 9th grade I evidently got a B on an Animal Farm paper for not claiming that the socialist Orwell, who fought Franco in Spain with entry papers provided by a socialist org, had as his central purpose for writing the novel "informing the reader that communism is good in theory but doesn't work in practice" like everyone else had. Of course by that time I had already -actually read Trotsky,- and we can't have that, now can we?

Anyway that kind of sabotaged me for university admissions since no top-tier place wants le shiggy 3.9 weighted / 3.6 unweighted fag who's """only smart at math and science,""" and I'm still sore about it. At least graduate programs in the sciences are gatekept by those smart/insightful enough not to assess your intellectual abilities by how well you do in "intro to chicano feminist queer theory."

>"look mom, he made a grammar/spelling mistake! that means I don't have to take him seriously!"

after my first two humanities classes i just straight up started pandering and picking low hanging fruit topics to guarantee me a good grade.

They're required dumb idiot

I'd tried that too, but then I'd get a B for choosing a weak topic or using poor (the teacher's) arguments.
It's lose-lose.

maybe in a shit uni, sure.

>tfw 2 out of the 4 B's i got in all of undergrad were in humanities courses
the other two were in college chemistry 1 and fluid dynamics.

>elite universities have some categorical incentive to avoid requiring SJW classes - even though studying and adopting identarian, "new left" ruling-class ideology signals status, prestige and professional success due to its association with the intellectual justifications for bourgeois rule in late-stage capitalism, and to the extent that it is routinely used as a marketing point by most if not all universities - because they're "prestigious" and "more intellectual."
Damn. Uncritically accept everything that comes out of Yale's social science departments while you're at it, then, why don't you.

I go to a top 20. Inhale my dong.

>failures

You mean failure. It's alright to do so if you got that one terrible teacher who plunged your grade in one single course.

fuck me that's a cute doge

Got a B in philosophy. Literally 3 hours of work.
EZ IQ POINTS EEEZZZZZZZZZZZZ

>get A in grad level q-chem
>get B in intro to queer theory
>straight professor tells me I disagree with him despite being gay because hegemony blinds me to straight privilege in society
>complain
>get A in intro to queer theory

>tfw fucked around freshman year and failed humanities courses
>tfw my good STEM grades are overshadowed by freshman failures

How fucked am I? Should I just drop out and do welding?

no one gives a shit about GPA. ban op

things more important than GPA: networking, a portfolio of work. if you don't make nepotism work for you with the limited time you have, your GPA masturbating is meaningless to your success and you've wasted time. hope that helps.

You fags need to stop encouraging these types of shitposts.

Thesis: every reply ITT is a shitpost
Antithesis: no
Synthesis: fuck off

shut the fuck cum gobbler, I can sense the weakness of your intellect

Mfw I have straight As in major, and a bunch of Cs from required humanities courses.

>tfw my forced humanities courses were my lowest grades in undergrad

This. I took 3 of them my last semester after I already got accepted into grad school. I put in the minimum effort and got a C- in all 3.
