You can't tell me what to do!

200 = 400 Gradians?

360 is useful because it is highly composite

...why are the angles backwards?

Why not just use radians.

Then why is our counting system base 10 instead of base 12?

Exactly, this already pretty similar to radians but instead of using pi you use 100. So you go from 0;pi/2;pi;3pi/2;2pi to 0;100/2;100;3(100)/2;2(100). It's like using radians but with none of the usefulness because it doesn't use pi which is the whole point of radians.

Because we are stupid.

10 fingers

It isn't though.

Looks good

>degrees
wat

>0 at the 12 'o clock position
wat

10 is the maximum value you can express with the number of fingers you have. You can devise a more complex system using fingers (like binary) but the notion of 1 finger = 1 piece is really simple and robust for a number system, understood even by small children.

Although the number system is base 10, value of 60 was and is important because of its dandy dividability of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20 and 30. That is one reason why a minute has 60 seconds and an hour has 60 minutes.

Because muh digits.
It's pretty shitty and should be changed desu.

you realize what a nightmare it would be to change?
besides, if you can't do base 10 maths you are a brainlet.
and of course, it hardly matters for higher math. it's a non-issue like pi vs tau

> 200/3 = 66.666666...

This. Radians actually make sense.

cuck

Why does it matter where the starting point is?
If you have this diagram on a piece of paper, just turn it.

Lord Jesus no...

>if you can't do base 10 maths
>implying what base it's in matters
If you think base 10 maths is any different from base 12 maths then you are a brainlet desu

>degrees
>not radians
get on my level pleb.

let me rephrase it to you, autist: math in base 10

Wait until the human race mutates some extra fingers.

there are cultures that naturally developed octal because they count the spaces between their fingers instead

You are now aware that every base would see itself as base 10.

That changes nothing and you are still a brainlet who is intellectually unfit to be posting on this board. Probably an engineer.

...

You're the fucking brainlets for not getting what I mean.

All the basic algorithms for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing are the same in all bases you fucking cow.

As if I ever implied anything else. The thing is, duodecimal is advocated partly because it would supposedly make arithmetic easier, no?

Base 6 is pretty handy for counting with your fingers; you have the ones on one hand and the tens on the other, so you can count to 35 (base 10).

200 is divisible by
1,2,4,5,8,10,20,25,40,50,100,200
360 is divisible by
1,2,3,4,5,6,8,9,10,12,15,18,20,24,30,36,40,45,60,72,90,120,180,360

I think it's pretty clear which one is more useful.

π = 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105820974944592307816406286208998628034825342117067982148086513282306647093844609550582231725359408128481117450284102701938521105559644622948954930381964428810975665933446128475648233786783165271201909145648566923460348610454326648213393607260249141273724587006 ...

>superior

It's easier to say and write pi than 200/3.

Based Babylonian arithmetic

To be fair, every base is base 10
