The Rome-Hitler conjecture

"all roads lead to Rome"

Let Adolf's article be a node "X".
For any "Y" node in the wikipedia articles group, the maximum distance of Y to X is four intermediary nodes.

You can try it right now.

Holy shit it works!

Aristotle->Nietzsche->Nazism->Hitler

!!!

Another one:

Car->History of the Automobile->Volkswagen Beetle->Adolf Hitler

Dinosaur->United States->World War II->Hitler

OP->/pol/

What do you mean by "node"?

Oh sorry, I think "vertex" is the correct word for it

I only made the OP post, sorry mate.

Just tried it with all the wikipedia articles I happen to have open now.

Jersey Boys -> West End theatre -> World War I -> Hitler

Zermelo–Fraenkel set theory -> Ernst Zermelo -> Germans -> Hitler (easy)

Elder Thing -> H. P. Lovecraft -> Friedrich Nietzsche -> Hitler
Nigga you didn't have to go through Nazism, Hitler is mentioned in the Nietzsche article.

Peter O'Toole -> Lawrence of Arabia -> World War I -> Hitler

Copernican Principle -> Hermann Bondi -> Austria -> Hitler

"the OP post"

Sounds fucked but you know what I meant

Node what computer scientists use, vertex is what mathematicians say.

t. CS and math double major

I know, but they bully us here

Some random articles:

Phom Naga -> Rice Wine -> Beer -> Germanic Peoples -> Germany -> Hitler

Josias Joesler -> Tuscon, Arizona -> Non-Hispanic Whites -> German People -> Hitler

David Knox (businessman) -> Edinburgh, Scotland -> United Kingdom -> World War II -> Hitler

Brian Harper (engineer) -> Melbourne, Australia -> World War I -> Hitler

Greyton -> Western Cape -> White South Africans -> Race (human categorization) -> Nazism -> Hitler

How do you know the paths you chose are the shortest?

I don't, but I wasn't trying to find the shortest paths, just any paths with at most four articles between the starting point and Hitler.

That's just a sideffect of wikipedia having lots of hyperlinks and being a densely connected graph

>2017
>Not using Wikipedia links to race others to get to obscure articles

Trizol->Chloroform->Frankfurt->The Holocaust->Hitler

I thought for sure I had found an exception at first.

Interesting.

Bochner integral -> Salomon Bochner -> Nazi seizure of power -> Adolf Hitler

It is possible to do a lot better.
Phom Naga -> Protestantism -> Germany -> Hitler
Josias Joesler -> Academy of Fine Arts, Munich -> Germany -> Hitler
David Knox (businessman) -> Edinburgh -> Munich -> Hitler
Greyton -> Dutch Reformed Church -> Germany -> Hitler

runescape > german language > germany > hitler

Trizol -> Phenol -> World War II -> Hitler

>something
>country related to something
>country that participated in WW2 related to country
>hitler
wooooow

Rahul Pandey -> India -> Democracy -> Nazi Germany -> Adolf Hitler

Mollie Tomlin -> Australia -> Second World War -> Adolf Hitler

Oryguncus -> Moth -> German Language -> Germany -> Adolf Hitler

Neon sign -> Paris Motor Show -> Paris -> Paris in World War II -> Adolf Hitler

Mustafa Hadid -> Altonaer FC von 1893 -> Hamburg -> Germany -> Adolf Hitler

Proof of the Hitler Conjecture is as follows

Every page that directly links to a country directly links to a list of countries that participated in WWII in some fashion.
Y -> Country of Y's Origin -> All Countries -> Germany -> Hitler

Therefore the only way for Y to have a Hitler-distance >4 is if Y is not an object invented in a country or a person from a country

The only suitable Y must therefore be plants, animals, or some sort of organism that preceded nations and is not limited to only one country. Unfortunately, almost all Wikipedia articles on various species link to the page "Species" which has a Hitler-distance of 3 via Species -> Natural Selection -> Eugenics -> Hitler

And therefore the most suitable Y are actually unsuitable, and all Y have a Hitler distance of 4 or less.

Girl with a Pearl Earring(painting)->Scarlett Johansson->Ashke(nazi) Jew->Hitler
Hopkins County Museum and Heritage Park->Excavation (archaeology)->Nazi archaeology->Hitler
Pretty easy
Deepwater Horizon oil spill->United States Department of Justice->Franklin D. Roosevelt->Hitler

All these revelations lead me to deduce that it may infact be Hitler that is the cause for all our woes and not the Jews.

>proof by example

guy guys dont hate to do it manually. there are many sites like
degreesofwikipedia.com/

that do it for you, just put in proton and Hitler and you get
[proton] => Proton
[subatomicparticle] => subatomic_particle
[alberteinstein] => Albert_Einstein
[adolfhitler] => Adolf_Hitler

How'd you find the path?

degreesofwikipedia.com/?a1=King Afonso I&linktype=1&a2=Adolf Hitler&skips=&submit=1492718793¤tlang=en

Long live King Afonso

Well, I managed to find some two things things with degree >5

[olafguthfrithson(disambiguation)] => Olaf_Guthfrithson_(disambiguation)
[englishlanguage] => English_language

[firefly] => Firefly
[groundbeetle] => Ground_beetle
[trechinae] => Trechinae
[trechus] => Trechus
