I don't usually come to this board, but I heard about this bill nye shit about an hour ago and I hoped people would be talking about it here.

This shit makes me so fucking mad. As a kid I loved bill nye, I've loved doing science all my life, and I'm majoring in life sciences. This isn't fucking science. Nye is a fraud who uses fame to push his own political agendas, that's all he is anymore, and I hate that politics has made me lose faith in so much of the scientific community.

I used to be a liberal even, I'm canadian and in the 2015 federal election I voted for the NDP, which is farther left than the liberal party, but I can't see myself voting for anything other than conservative for the next few decades I feel.

Bullshit social science and gender politics has infected the scientific community, and infected left wing politics, which in general I have always found more reasonable than the right. But this shit makes me so fucking mad that I've decided that I can't bring myself to support what is called socially progressive politics and science, because it's turned into something completely different from what it was a decade ago.

Fucking bill nye is one of the reasons I can't trust people who claim to support "science" or "progress" anymore, and one of the reasons I feel like I need to vote for candidates who I disagree with on a spiritual level.
