absolute value

VertiBars

uh, the same as most other languages, modulus

Depends on context. Magnitude with respect to vectors, absolute value with respect to numbers

An absolute value is simply a special case of a "magnitude" (I assume you meant norm).

Pipes

engineering student here.

There's just some kind of vertical line symbols

You'd generally say "absolute value of n squared over ..." but you could call them "pipes" "vertical lines" or "absolute value lines".

While that's true, most people refer to the norm of a singular number as the absolute value.

Absolute Magnitude, it is a catch all for complex numbers, vectors, etc.

Brackets are a spectrum

Magnitude or norm is simply a special case of an "inner product".

Unironically, I was told they were called "modulus"

No it's not. It's a special case of a "distance."

It can be called a modulus for complex numbers.
