Seems to me that both their degrees are mostly bs.

It's possible, why not. But I know about Nye's work, and I just learned who Dolph is.
Ergo, Nye is probably more important anyhow.

I am more qualified. In fact last I checked 30% of people these days have a bachelors degrees. So he is only more qualified than 60% of people.

Nye worked in industry much longer than Dolph though.
Getting degrees is instructive; so is working in the field, as long as successive projects one is assigned to require that one develop their skills further.

Although apparently you're not very qualified to perform basic statistical analysis, because if 30% of people these days have bachelors degrees, the percentage of people with bachelors degrees in the sciences is going to be considerably smaller.

Is that you carlos? You witty little fuck.

that does not deny the fact that Dolph is more prepared to start working in the field considering his amount of education

Funny, Dolph was even smarter becoming the physical ubermench to compliment his academic accomplishments and then made a nice amount of money through acting.

The hell is Bill Nye known for? Your elementary/middle school classroom video tapes to pass time?

>bs chemistry
>bs chemical engineering
Is this really allowed? Why don't I go around different countries collecting similar degrees so that I can have a reason to be there and get grills?

>Although apparently you're not very qualified to perform basic statistical analysis, because if 30% of people these days have bachelors degrees, the percentage of people with bachelors degrees in the sciences is going to be considerably smaller.

I'm sorry. You seem to have assumed mechanical engineering is a science.

it denies precisely that, and i'm not certain why you think otherwise.
experience from industry isn't inherently less instructive than from academia.
Academia exists to provide some baseline because employers aren't willing to invest in training someone in chemical engineering from scratch.
But once you have an opportunity learn just as effectively on the job, why wouldn't you? You're getting paid and don't have to pay for your new skills.

He calls himself "science guy", not "scientist"

white nationalists ass blasted everywhere ever since bill nye decided to tell everyone their batshit stance on global climate change was batshit.
Whatever else Bill didn't do with his time, getting these sketti eaters' panties in a bunch will certainly earn him the respect of most intelligent folk.

who the fuck is dolph lundgren?

This commercial explains him well.

The Mandela effect is real.

In my universe, up until a couple months ago Bill Nye studied at Washington State University before working at Boeing. WSU even credited him as one of their famous alumni on their promotional material. What happened?

you do realize that NatSoc is incredibly environment/conservation friendly, right? Nazi Germany was one of the most earth-friendly governments to date. Introduced sustainable forestry, animal rights, incredible advances in natural gas, etc.

If you think sustainability and lessening your impact on the landscape is batshit, then I guess I'm a certified loon. Enjoy being a brainlet living in chinese industrial waste!

kek yeah I used to like bill nye

not that user but that can't be true
what about all the tanks and the railguns and whatnot?

True, Hitler pioneered a lot of environmental regulations.

I totally agree; the Nazis were futurists. They had some horrible ideas but there was more to their governing philosophy than genocide or racism. They wanted to build a futuristic society and wanted to be on the right side of science and engineering, and respected scientific expertise.
I dunno the difference between white nationalists and neo nazis, but I know I have a lot more respect for much of the worldview of Nazis than neo nazis which I just associate with purely retrograde thinking and unrefined character.

He has a boatload of "honorary" degrees, thanks to his show and speaking engagements.

well you should find it heartening that as a highly educated person and as a Swede, Dolph is quite likely to agree that anthropogenic climate change is a significant threat to our ecosystems.

It's called being fucking stupid

No, like his BSc in mechanical engineering was from WSU since he was a Washington native before working for Boeing and appearing on Seattle's "Almost Live" where he got his start.

so he didn't get into an ivy league school? what a hack

Bill Nye is a science educator. He tries to make the public less ignorant about science. These ad hominem attacks against him don't refute anything he says.

That's because his name is not Bill Nyentist.

Who cares? It's not the man but his message!!

If you think a Mechanical Engineer is not a scientist, you probably didn't go to college. Engineering is applied physics.

This. You don't even need a degree to teach science on the level that he does. A high school education would be more than enough. He's simply trying to make the general public less ignorant.

>exponentially
why do people do this to me

>A is exponentially bigger than B

this is a pet peeve of mine, too

we're talking about the term ''scientist'' here. not the term ''engineer''. in terms of scientific research, yes, it is inherently less instructive than academia. you can't do research with just a bachelors with all the industry experience in the world.

>you can't do research with just a bachelors with all the industry experience in the world.
>This is what people trapped in the academia bubble actually believe

truth

>doesn't know who Daddy Lundgren is
I literally had a crush on him as a child, wtf?

From what I seen sometimes industry moves so fast academia is left behind. Industry work is not trivial as you make it out to be. Sometimes it's the academic work that is trivial in comparison. Yeah, I wanna get a PhD. But I also worked for longer than you've been an undergrad kiddie making real money in industry and I have the experience to see the difference between the two, this is something you lack. I'm now back in academia. I'm also no the person you originally been replying to but a new user. Also from what I've seen professors like students with industry experience more so than people like you that probably go directly into a PhD program from an undergrad program.

lundgren is a genius who pursued a career outside science, but still a fucking genius.
Normies are just ignorant.

Based Dolph is my role model.

>thinking you need a PHD to do research
>thinking you need degrees and years of acadamia experience to add to the scientific community

yes. dolph is much more qualified compared to Nye. I agree. but your line of reasoning as to WHY is completely fucked.

>exponentially
Brainlet

>became chemical engineer
>for the sole purpose of creating his own steroids

fucking kek.

I think it depends on the field. For something like engineering or anything applied, I imagine industrial experience adds a lot to your experience for research. For something like mathematics or theoretical physics, it adds nothing other than maturity.

in engineering, industry experience is WAY more important than advanced degrees.
I know a guy who never finished his M.S. (did coursework but no thesis) and is a top-level engineer at a major company...because he's had decades to prove he's good at engineering.

>respected scientific expertise
if this were true, the Allies wouldn't have beaten them to the punch on nuclear weapons. so many prominent scientists were forced out of Germany because of their political views or ethnicity, including of course Einstein.
Deutsche Physik was their Lysenkoism.

You must remember there are different degrees of degree.

Nazis = National Socialists. The only reason the american left doesn't take on the title is because:

1) the american left can't get enough Americans to support socialism. Thus the left needs them to flood in from everywhere else. Which is also why Obama could cut off Cuban's wet/dry foot policy overnight without a peep from the media.

2) Hitler kinda ruined the brand

So they adopt the tactics and project the title.

Industry always hires the best and the brightest because they can afford to. Government gets the remainder. Which is why science that requires government support can be a bit shoddy.

Chemistry and Chemical Engineering despite the similar sounding names are quite different.

>incredible advances in natural gas

Dolph Lundgren doesn't count, he is literally a perfect superhuman born without flaws, every human being looks like a retarded loser besides him.

>▶
>It's possible, why not. But I know about Nye's work, and I just learned who Dolph is.
>Ergo, Nye is probably more important anyhow.

This means you were probably born after the year 2000 which labels you as a perpetual moron and a baby. You do not know anything.

>6'5 and in perfect shape during his prime
>Gorgeous
>Chemical Engineer and an MIT scholarship
>160 IQ
>Successful actor
>Millionaire

Is he the perfect human?

>Absolutely no chest gap

Did god make him to just fuck with the rest of us?

He was a shit actor who got in a few big movies because he was buff. He's basically a shit version of Arnold Schwartzenegger.

I like his movies... :'(

Two words:
Sex junk.

Bill Nye is forever a joke to me now.

"I just broke you"
My sides.

He can't act though. It probably eats a way at him too, all that talent but he chooses to do something he's bad at.

It's true the Nazis booted a lot of very competent scientists due to racist laws but they didn't couch their reasoning behind propaganda about fake science. They were honest that their race laws and war effort were the priority consideration when it came to whom researched what, scientific progress came second.

It was Communists that forced scientists to disavow "Western" and "capitalist" theories about the universe in favor of what the Soviet leadership indicated was kosher to research. As a result many brilliant scientists ended up wasting their life trying to prove bogus ideas.

Are you implying that Lysenko was incorrect?

>Trump's political qualifications don't matter, he's a business man! He knows the industry!

>Nye isn't qualified on what he speaks! He only has a bachelors! Just because he's worked in the industry for decades doesn't mean anything!

Which is it retards

There are literally millions of people with qualifications of similar or better prestige, but they aren't good looking and on steroids.

60+30=100

the worst part is if you correct them you sound like an ass

>Absurdly attractive
>accomplished genius

I should really just end myself. No point in struggling to overcome being dealt a crap hand when people like that exist.

Germany didn't have the resources the US did.

They did however develop a mechanism to transmute Thorium into Uranium-232.

>being limited to two options
this aint reddit sweetie

>chooses to do something he's bad at
>still more succesful than the entirety of this board

really tingles my almonds.

So much this

Dolph knows how to bring people to God.
