No, Philosophy is dead. Anything of value has been salvaged by the field of Mathematical Logic.

I stopped there.

Stopped reading right there

just

Philosophy is elder tier, because only old people give a fuck about it.

More or less, although at least at the moment CS gives you decent job opportunities, thats why I would rate them higher.

I have a philosophy degree and im a medical doctor - what does that make me?

>tier lists
>hahaha validate my biases pls my dudes
>my dudes

shift that / next to the shit tier colon down one line and youre almost on the money

Philosophy is below shit tier. I don't care if you retards say the universe is a ping pong ball. It has become pseudo intelligent modern art type circlejerk.

Doctor feel good

Just don't read too much Schopenhaufer.

History Is cool desu

>engineering in god tier

>Life Sciences higher rated than Information sciences
CS and Information sciences should both shift one rank up

In reality you should be versed in all of those fields unless you're a moron.

Yes, even philosophy.

where is Biology?

>life sciences
are you retarded

Hello Bill Nye. How's that TV show of yours coming along?

>microbiology and molecular genetics lumped with ecology and wildlife conservation

Ayy lmao

He does raise an interesting point, though. There are "Health Science" and "Life Science" folks who are basically just nurses, yet there are also Biochemists, Biophysicists, Biomedical Engineers; which Biology is this supposed to represent? All of them? Because that seems dumb.

Yes I'm arguing this dumb tier-chart needs 1 or 2 changes to be 100% accurate to reality

geo bachelors and stats masters reporting in

no, clearly not

God: Math, Physics
Top: Chem, CS*, Philosophy**
High: Statistics & Applied math, Geology, Medicine & Pharmacology, Astronomy, Misc. Sciences
Mid: Engineering (includes software and other "CS"), Economics, Psychology
Low: Other pseudosciences, continental philosophy
Shit: Doesn't even try to be science

*Theory
**Analytical

move philosophy to mid tier or lower and put electrical engineering to Elder God Tier and the list is accurate

>Putting Economics on par with Business and Psychology
>"Life Sciences" including everything from forestry, to paleontology to molecular biology
My rage knows no bounds

Hippocrates

>yfw no one posts the one true meme image

What kind of shitty bait is this?
99% of this board is in "god tier" you're not going to get anyone mad with this here.

This is a great bait thread OP. Great job

No, master of one > jack of all trades.

>Computer Science
>Mid tier

Shit list.

This list needs to be rewritten as

Things I know about
Things I know nothing about

...

Engineering is shit tier becuase it's for brainlets
Law is shit tier because it's a parasitic industry, and wouldn't exist in a non-shit government
Philosophy is just math for sub-120 IQs
Medicine is low tier because 80% of it is going to be replaced by csfags in 30 years
Astronomy is also shit tier, explaination not required

>microbiology and molecular gentics
>not lumped into ecology
Wew brainlad
>wildlife conservation
That's not a science it's applied science.

...

I don't get it, it's all philsophy

This is true. I see /g/ referenced on Veeky Forums all the time, but it seems like /g/ isn't even aware Veeky Forums exists.

>Music
>Shit tier

Found the negro

Fixed

>geology above economics/finance
no idiot

5 isn't even a bug lmao

that's because compsci people unironically think they are at the top of everything

Renaissance man masterrace. That's what I'm trying to become too.

No, bump Computer Science up one and law down one and it'll be good.

1 is Hymenopteran
2 is a beetle
3 is lepidopteran
4 is an isopod
There isn't a single true bug on that picture

In my country it is obligatory to do two Semesters of philosophy when you are graduating at any area who deals directly with people

You STEM dorks - make sure you work on your soft skills or stay in the tech world. Nothing worse than a dweeb in a creative environment.

make sure you do not wind up like my UCLA CS friend who took a job at Disney/ABC. He gets to ion clothes for the Harvard/Oxford grad.

thewaltdisneycompany.com/leaders/ben-sherwood/

Pretty much.

I'm pretty sure the original of this comic was meant to make fun of reductionism la

>analytical philosophy
I'd ask you if you're autistic but I'd get a reply along the lines of:
1. I could not be autistic
1.a. OP is a fag
1.b. but im a bigger fag
1.c ad infinity

99.99% of philosophers throughout history didn't know shit about computer science.

I actually study math and don't care much about philosophy, but it's total bro tier mate

The problem is most philosophers (even philosophy of science) don't know shit about physics. They take the most basic axioms and manipulate them to fit into their preconceived HS notions of how the world must work according to human logic and its "special" place. A good scientists can shit on pretty much any modern theory coming from philosophy of science.

This might be true, but did you consider the fact that most scientists don't know shit about philosophy either, and might misinterpret what they're trying to say, or simply aren't interested in the "meta-questions"?

Scientists who know nothing about philosophy and philosophers who know nothing about science won't make much interesting progress in philosophy of science, but if they work together and really try to understand each other, I think it can lead to some interesting results.

where is geophysics?

>theologians
bait

The only good degrees are Gender Studies and Liberal Arts

What gives a major the tier it's on? The amount of money you'd get from having a job in that field? The satisfaction you'd get from studying it? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and boiling everything down to money is a moronic thing to do.
Except when it comes to gender studies
/half the threads on Veeky Forums

>astronomy
Lol good luck finding someone willing to pay you money to look at space, galileio.

Underrated

Stopped reading there.

a liar

lol computer scietnist being on the most-left place xD xD it's because it's less pure than sociology get it? xD rofl well memed :D

>implying you can't/won't just switch fields in
I know Chem Ph.Ds who switched to high performance computing Ph.Ds.
I've been taught by Math/Chemistry students
And C.S. B.S. grads who went into Math for Maths courses. Some into engineering even.

>implying this shit even matters sans the given grouping in pic related(and prospects of bio/chem/niche fields etc ignored)

CS is the meme degree of the 21st century.

Enjoy being a workmule as I breeze through a humanities PhD, fostering my advanced socializing skills and broadening my network, then end up at as a CEO overlooking a whole army of you dweebs

Elder God tier here.

yes dum dum

>not doing everything mentioned
brainlet

>not studying architecture, the beautiful mixture of philosophy, art and science.

Exchanfe physics, or tlat east engeneering with stats pls.

What do STEM graduates do for a living anyway? I know engineering and technology has a lot of applications in real life, but what about highly theoretical sciences and mathematics? What are they used for other than teaching them to others and the very rare super technical position?

Veeky Forums help i decided to go into business and i feel like i'm wasting my time and money

everything i'm learning i could've read out of a book and none of it is mentally challenging, just either tedious accounting stuff or managerial pseudoscientific bullshit

it's too late to back out now, fuck me

Quant trading at prop shops very popular.

Never too late user. Have a friend who was in biochem and switched to engineering. Just do a few more years.

Coulda sworn Toxicology and Pharmacology where life sciences...
Really Veeky Forums memeing on life sciences is annoying. It's like a bunch of spastic retards focusing on biology/botany undergrads or something.

Hecking this. Papa bless your soul.

Business is just about getting a certificate and a job. You could try econ

Jack of all trades, master of none
Surely better than a master of one

That's the saying you dope

>Reading anything at all
I stopped right there

god tier:
botany

great tier:
philosophy
linguistics

ok tier:
math, physics, liberal arts

shit tier:
engineering

anyone who disagrees is is brainlet.

>implying we're not

What it the point of these threads?
Why do people never get tired of posting them and "contributing" to them?

which is why they were shit

>doctor
>arguably not worth it

>engineer
>4-5 years of doing hw and labs to probably do paperwork and stare at computer screens

>accounting
>similar to above, but worse

>95% of other majors near useless and exist for academia or are only good if you have a job lined up

Does anyone lack purpose or hate being in school? How do you stay committed? I'm struggling to stick with it and may drop out for the second time. Thinking of just joining the military to get out of this mess

studying is my purpose, I could give less of a shit about a "career." Everything is miserable. Being the Buybacks clerk is a way better existence.

i like this a lot

Engineering shouldn't be on this list in the first place

>Mid: Engineering (includes software and other "CS"), Economics, Psychology
Engineering should be above econ and psychology.

Not doing a triple major with 2 minors attached:
Aerospace Eng.
Economics, minored with BA
Korean lang and lit minored with PolSci

>Implying the near genius-level intelligence physicians have isn't able to adapt to using computers more often.

Computer science is literally a career based on learning what most people intuitively grasp while working with computers. Stop trying to compare your brainlet career to a true profession like medicine.

...

ehh, I'm a bit torn about that. in the end they're all plug and chug and repeat but yeah I'd say engineering is a notch above both

>physics is literally a career based on learning what most people intuitively grasp while working with real life. Stop trying to compare your brainlet career to a true profession like computer science.

Computer Science is at least top tier

If it wasn't then it wouldn't be one of the highest paying majors. Learn some basic economics please, the anti-CS meme is getting really old

Source: I probably make more money than you and I was a CS major

People intuitively grasp operating system design and high performance computing while learning to use Google?

I bet you know nothing about CS at all.

>Monsanto memebeans and insulin-producing E. coli
>lumped into ecology
Wew brainlad.
