So I got into pic related for physics. Is it any good? U.S News ranks them at 22 in the nation, but I've read from students at the university that the major is full of engineering rejects and that the quality of instruction is hit or miss. I'm highly self-motivated and prefer to teach myself anyway, so this doesn't bother me. What I care about most is the accessibility of research opportunities for undergraduates. I'm coming from cc and haven't done any internships or research.

Any current or former students care to weigh in?

Yeah, but you can eat a dick though. What are you going to do, report me? The mods can't even be bothered to clean up the abundance of climate change threads that are saturating the front page.

If I wanted to mire in a circle jerk of ">tfw no gf, >just be yourself" posts, I'd go to /adv/. I want to talk about science. Go finish calc 1 before you challenge my legitimacy again, kid (nothing personnel).

>work entire ass off at UW
>gooks with commie bucks pay their way in and only show up for tests with cheat sheets
>live for knowledge
>zipperheads drive 90k Jags and Porsches
>all the nips smell like mothballs
>professors force to pass them or risk getting fired for stopping the commie buck train

Stay far away or try Tacoma.

The main campus and the student body are fucking nigger and more and more employers are realizing that especially with CS and Business

Wait, so everyone knows they're cheating and they still get away with it?

It's a good school obviously. Do your work and make your connections. Talk to professors and try to be a lab bitch at some point. Doesn't matter the university, networking is always part of the schooling. If you're thinking of grad school, talk to professors about where they went and try to use them for letter of rec for their alma mater. It'll carry more weight.

Yes.

The Administrative body basically forces non-tenured instructors to pass International Students at an extremely high rate or face discipline.

Almost every year there's controversy with the main Campus.

Back in 2012 the state was going to completely withhold funding from the school due to their corrupt admissions rates.

The largest acceptance went to International Students, followed by Out of State then finally in-state. After they found out about a super inflated quota set per instate students.

The school got on the Olympia corruption train and Inslee bent the knee for Gook-bucks.

Between 2013-15 the in state acceptances went up 3 fold then went back to their pre-13 levels.

I remember watching the news and listening to the radio back then and people were like "If the UW loses its funding the state may force them to change their name lmao"

Basically it's 1-2 students per 500 graduating classes on academic and extracurricular alone not including Athletic scholarships.

It's the most corrupt place you can imagine.

How a 'student' can afford a 2 million dollar condo and a 6 figure car is beyond me.

As a whole Washington is the most corrupt state in the Union probably second only to California.

Tacoma and Bothel have releativley high acceptance rates to funnel in-state students as a back-up.

Tuition:
In-state: 11k
Out of State: 36k
International: 55k

1 International = 4 In-State

It's all about the money, user.

>corruption
Nothing more American than making a dollar my friend.

Sad but true.

Enough of my complaining, good luck anons.
