I'm a NEET that freelances, so I generally spend hours at a time in my apartment without social interaction. I have no friends, no family. I don't plan on attending college. I don't want a proper job so I can interact with people. I can train myself for pretty much anything I want to do. The only problem of course is that isolation over time can damage your brain, and I've noticed some cognitive deficits after around a few months of doing this. What should I expect for the future, and how can I prevent cognitive decline?

You've got it already. Just shitpost on Veeky Forums, it's quality interaction.
This is the perfect way to not enjoy life to the full!
I like the joke, but please try to keep it useful.

It seems like getting a pet would prevent a loss in oxytocin, but I still need some exercises to keep my verbal skills...
It's a normalfag defense, which attacks your brain. Your brain is being prepared to evolve into a greater state and I think that in 2-6 months the pain will disappear and you will be a nice kyrgyz.
Actually If I save up enough by working like this, I can move to another country every year.
I've studied some people that have been in research stations in the arctic, and it seems like they just take control of their mind, and body.
I feel like if I establish a routine, get a pet, and go on meetup.com regularly, I should be fine.
I suppose it was silly to expect real answers from Veeky Forums.
There's this thing called Church where fags hang out and sing songs. Humanist association if you're a fedora (which I am). Costs almost nothing.
I've considered it, but I can't really fake being religious.
The setup you have is difficult for most people!
If you are finding it difficult then you need to tweak your routine a bit, if you don't want to interact with others then watch them interact with each other (it can be annoying)!
Perhaps run to a coffee shop for 1/2h per day, or sit in the park, if this is not an option then watch something where people interact!
You can watch movies... however I would suggest watching something more current for few minutes!
All you need is to keep your brain stimulated, find a balance.
Frankly I only recommend long term isolation for those that can at any instance, without difficulty walk out the door and still have the ability to interact with ease with others!
and spend every year in another country cooped up like you are now?

Yeah, It's a little disappointing. I should have at least a few hours to spare each day, though.
Humanists aren't religious you fuckhead.
Then become religious
If you aren't willing to live life properly by experiencing things then why not simply kill yourself and shortcut it?
To put this in perspective, I'm an illustrator.
In order to do this, I'm basically just a fancy renderer/shader disguised as a human.
Around 10 hours of my time every day is spent autistically drawing on a screen. This includes regular breaks of course.
I have no trouble socially interacting with people, but during this time, I'll be developing one skill and creating a deficit in all others.
In my off time, of course, this isn't a problem, but doing this ten or more hours a day can create some issues. The question is how do I compensate for the regular interaction you would find in a workplace?
I still experience things, so no thank you.
I joined a musical society. Regular interraction, get to move a bit, cute girls, socialising etc.
This isn't actually the worst idea.
I think, honestly, I was overcomplicating it. Thank you for your suggestions, anons.
I Have studied a bit about the brain i can tell you that the human brain stops to develope around your late 20's to early 30's so you shouldnt worry about this till after your of this age. I would say to read alot as a side hobby and or find a hobby that really works your brain constantly or challenges it. If you dont use your brain it will decline over time. You dont need social interaction if you have experienced social interaction before other wise i would say find some freinds. Btw nice booty pepe mouse pad.
after i graduate i plan to move in a cottage in the woods and work through satellite connection, 10-15 minutes of car away from the closest town, where i'd go only to get the necessary supplies.
I'm quite worried about the mental health implications though
>prospect of kms if i keep living in a city
>prospect of becoming batshit crazy after a while if i go through with this plan
Probably i'll just rent the place, try it out for a few months and then go for a very small and quiet town if i start feeling not too well
where can I get that pepe pad?
>meetup.com
thanks user, i might actually use this
>g502
nice
That's an r5 and it has removable MXM GRAPHIC cards. It is literally a portable desktop where you can easily upgrade the cpu, gpu, ram as you would on a desktop.
Stay poor and indoors desktop nerd
