>n-no

>still lives with his mother.

nice projecting

i bet your father rarely talks to you

Yeah, well he died 10 years ago, so I'd hope not.

I havent lived with my mother or father since 2005.

>dad found my modest collection of homo Veeky Forums
>he doesn't believe that my interest in the matter is purely academic

Mishima is a fucking hack. Why is he such a meme on Veeky Forums? Is there really some quality literary work under that steaming pile of homoerotic japanese nationalism? I don't fucking get it.

Where to begin with Mishima? Which book should I start?

Spring snow

Temple of Golden Pav, tbqh.

I read that as molest collection. Just wanted you to know.

Post the blurb

>Tfw no collection of molestation literature

Kek, my mom borrowed that book from me and liked it.

Remember, it's no homo if you get an article published in a peer reviewed journal.

Now that I type it, doesn't the phrase "peer review" have a suggestive ring when used in conjunction with gay lit?

Anyone read the tetralogy? Just started on The Temple of Dawn. 50 pages in. It's pretty beautiful so far tbqh.

this happened to me in my last vacations (all family, mom, me, girlfriend, divorced brother, his kids, new divorced gf of brother, her kids)

>big family table
>oh, user son, you finished reading that book, what was it about?
>it is about a sect of kids who murder the new step father of one of the kids, because they had idolized him as a heroic sailor, and felt he had betrayed them by becoming the landbound father of one of them. The writer was kind of mentally ill, commited ritual suicide with a sword after attempting a coup d'état.
>oh user son, now I am worried about you

bump

Just reading this in Japanese. The themes of misogyny and revenge of a bitter old man interested me. Are the detailed descriptions and philosophical musings difficult to read in English too? I never get the feeling that I miss anything terribly relevant for the plot though.

The same thing happen to me with that exact book... my mother is still looking at me in a weird way. And they haven't found my trap porn stash

Damn, Sounds like a good read.

>not living with your mother
you know nothing of the Veeky Forums lifestyle
16/hr week at a library doesn't pay enough for groceries let alone rent

why is Veeky Forums giving attention to this literal fascist?

I thought he was an allegorical fascist.

Can I just start with the tetralogy?

Why shouldn't we?

>Fascism
>Bad

So, it looks like that cover is some guy sitting on a dick.

he's a cool guy and a better author than 99% of antifascists

Can someone shop that so it says Colors Forbidden?

>doesn't the phrase "peer review" have a suggestive ring
Well I guess it rhymes with 'queer review'.

I wonder if queer studies people call each other 'queer peers'? They clearly should.

This is the reason I stopped buying physical books and switched to my ebooks. My parents are fucking conservative enough to find 1984 scandalous and now probably think I'm some basic dude who is on failbook all the time on my phone

Start with the Kyoto school

>kyoto

Start with the Yamatos

why are redditors so afraid of nationalism? why would we want to live in a world of limp wristed femininity they want in their dumb commie utopianism?

>Dad finds copy of lolita
>Tells me it suites me

Hey thanks, asshole.
