Never read this as a child but I'm interested. Is it still at least an interesting reading for an adult?
A Series of Unfortunate Events
No, it's a kid book and your time should be worth a lot more. Even just for shallow entertainment there are literally thousands of better options.
i already read kid book I enjoyed (the OZ books are pretty entertaining). I dont know, i'm searching for some light readings
It's still enjoyable as an adult, the series is interesting and funny. No, they're not "high literature" or whatever, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth your time
i wouldn't recommend them. they're funny and gruesome at times but mostly shallow
very solid series
mesmerized me as a kid, its just okay as an adult but its still very funny
No.
They're for children.
I love them but they're for children.
Just watch the Netflix show.

Read Tolstoy then
They're pinecone for kids. So yeah, they're fun.
What would sex with Violet be like?
I'll never understand this mentality.
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with reading a good book, said to be for children. I'm saying that these are books, good for children, but not satisfactory to an adult.
Now the only experience left for me from them is nostalgia, which isn't the highest feeling,
and wanting to fuck Violet
Okay, that makes sense. Though that really depends on the book. There are still a lot of books I read as a child that I'll eagerly read again.
I didn't say I wouldn't eagerly read them again either.
Well, sure.
The point I'm so badly trying to make is that there are children's books worth reading as an adult too, beyond nostalgia or "good for children". I mean, I just recently started reading Gerald Morris' "The Squire's Tales".
Tamora Pierce's books are a good example, I think.
Since youre probably underage. Yeah go ahead and read them
Which Pinecones are most Snicket-esque?
Eh, your detection is off. I'm Canadian.
I mean, with all things it depends how far your willing to go with your suspension of disbelief and how much your willing to over think things. The world it takes place in is almost steam punk in nature and almost nothing like our own in terms of laws but none of that is expressed directly to the reader, and is left be inferred from the characters reactions and the nature of the world itself. While it is for children and easy to see through most of the blanks it leaves, there are still many unanswered questions through out the entirety of the series. If you aren't into that kinda thing you won't enjoy it but if you're willing to let yourself get caught up in a childish story of surprising quality I say go for it.
All books are good, even Rupi Kuar.
TCOL49 by far. It's referenced in Book 6 actually. V is similar since both Snicket and Pynchon meme with the confused abbreviations, but TCOL49 has the communication breakdown themes and stepping into in a big confusing conspiracy without a guide themes.
Has to be V. ASoUEvents has the nebulously shifting acronym V.F.D. and V. has, well V., be it a place, a woman, a state. That's just one thing too.
Great series with tons of interesting references. If I ever have children I'd like them to read this, first time I read about Madam Bovary when I was a kid was in one of these books.
