Autism isn't on the rise! Diagnoses have just gotten better!

>autism isn't on the rise! Diagnoses have just gotten better!
This statement, why is it made? It answers no questions and is usually used to halt discussion.

It doesn't answer:
>Why males are more susceptible to autism
>Why autism is on the rise
>what causes autism
>why we seem to accept autism rather than try to stop it

its flouride in the water, and vaccines

wake up sheeple

Stop shitting up this place

But we're making the frogs gay

Also, feminists don't want a cure for autism

That's true, though. Birth control is damaging to our environment.

But your sarcastic response to this thread is exactly what is wrong with this issue. Questioning autism and it's misguided and ineffective research doesn't mean you're a conspiracy theorist who hates vaccines.

I heard Autism is related to the age of parents.
People tend to have kids later in life these days

>Diagnoses have just gotten better!
>Why autism is on the rise
Is it really? Do you have some actual statistics on autism increase?
I'm pretty sure 99% of the people claiming to be autistic on the internet are self diagnosed and just socially underdeveloped. I doubt your average pediatrician or house doctor could do a better diagnose of these kind of problems.
Autism is so much more than not being good at social interactions.

>Why males are more susceptible to autism
Are they? I heard women just express it differently or it's just a result of the statistics being skewed by social retards being labeled as autism. Women are naturally better at social interactions so it's just not as noticeable.

TRIPS HAS SPOKEN (sorry, I know)

There is no such thing as autism.

>implying the real answer isn't that diagnoses have gotten worse with a lot of falsely diagnosed autism where none exists

It answers the second question.

Or, to phrase that more neutrally, the diagnosis has changed to include the condition of individuals who would not have been diagnosed under the old system. Sothe numbers diagnosed go up. Whether they are catching more, less severe cases, or or misdiagnosing more people, either way it explains why the numbers being diagnosed are going up with no change in the population of potential patients.

How does one "stop" autism?

Autism is actually positively selected for. You think "HUH"? Yes, you think that, but let me repeat: autism is being selected for. There is a hypothesis that imprinted genes are behind autism, and some evidence that the gut flora plays a role in autism. Heck I bet, and have seen several other causes as well (and no, vaccinations is not one of them)
But whatever is causing it is none of importance, what is of importance is that it is being selected for. Within a few years we will be seeing more and more autistic people, but only some will reproduce (as you might notice from looking at the infamous board called /r9g/)

See this study: Widespread signatures of positive selection in common risk alleles associated to autism spectrum disorder.

One does not stop it. Have you heard of philosopher Nick Land? He argues that we need autistic accelerationism.
As the saying goes: gotta go fast

technically, autism isnt selected for. its other phenotypes. phenotypes are caused by distributions of interacting genes. Across the scale of whole populations and all different combinations of genes, this can be seen statistically as individual genes or selective groups of them having survival value in terms of associations with good phenotypes.

These sets of genes being present together could also produce autism even though across all the different distributions/combinations of genes, the genes by themselves statistically contribute to positive phenotypes (this assumes obviously that its relatively rare for the genes to be together all in the same distribution, or else there might not be an overall positive effect for any of the individual genes). this may explain why mental illnesses like schizophrenia and conditions like autism are quite rare (typically 1% of the population).

Across a big enough population you will get all possible combinations of genes and so a certain (if rare percentage) of people will have schizophrenia by virtue of this, even though the individual genes are approximately good for fitness. Mental illness can be explained in a purely statistical sense by virtue of phenotypes being products of complex interactions of genes rather than a one-to-one mapping between genes and phenotypes. mental illness doesn't need to necessarily be explained in terms of evolution but statistics (though this doesn't mean that some can be, and things like depression (or rather depressed feelings) and anxiety have had some interesting theoretical explanations recently though this isn't in the straight forward evolutionarily selective sense you might think and is far more nuanced.

note, im talking about individual genes being selective for different good phenotypes but when put together in combination, producing autism.

Thanks for the insightful comment, always appreciated

>It doesn't answer why autism is on the rise
Of course it doesn't. Why would it answer for something that isn't happening?

>take experimental vaccine against encephalitis
>suddenly have a strong urge to watch anime and make jit compilers in minecraft

wonder if it could be related

Hey, I am a psychiatrist
These are signs of stage 1 autism, but until you develop an obsessive interest in Sonic the hedgehog I wouldn't be worried

it's very likely either vaccines or other environmental toxins.

>why we seem to accept autism rather than try to stop it
oy vey goy, don't go looking for a cure, you might find out what's causing it

>>autism isn't on the rise! Diagnoses have just gotten better!
When will we experience
>Diagnoses aren't on the rise! Autism has just gotten better!
?

>Hey, I am a psychiatrist
I am continuously impressed by the expertise that dwells here...

>These are signs of stage 1 autism, but until you develop an obsessive interest in Sonic the hedgehog
I never knew that though it explains all the latex in The Thief. Obviously autism was their target from day one!

The percentage can still the same. But when the overall population grows, the absolute amount of autistics also grows.

To be fair, they were putting mercury compounds in vaccines as chelating agents, but then the media took that and turned it into "lol these dumdums think vaccines cause autism XD". Like no shit, shooting yourself up with heavy metals is a bad idea.

It doesn't answer the question because the question is faulty. Simply put, Autism isn't on the rise.

To be fair, they were putting sodium chloride in food for flavor or health, but then the media took that and turned it into "lol these dumdums think salty foods cause cancer XD" Like no shit, filling yourself up with chlorine is a bad idea.

90% of autism symptoms are the result of mental atrophy that occurred early in life. Autism can be cured if it's detected early and treated. Females are less likely to fall down the valley so to speak.

>natural substance needed to live versus a known highly toxic substance that's harmful in any quantity
???

ROASTED
OP got BTFO'd by his own question, when will he EVER recover?!

>technically, autism isnt selected for.

Yet it has most likely been important in human prehistory. It gives the totally different perspective. I am sure most thought it stupid to leave the caves, not to mention climb down from the trees. Yet someone did, someone had to be the first. Most probably died but in the end someone won through, and he or she sure was not a normal, by definition.

>chlorine isn't harmful.

Somehow we can magically take a toxic substance and combine it with another substance and suddenly, it isn't toxic anymore. What is so difficult with this?

People aren't putting just murcury in these things. All you faggots see is "mercury" and you go apeshit.

The point is that the body has no chemical pathways for processing mercury and other heavy metals, so once you ingest them they just stay there and fuck shit up for forever. Mercury binds to proteins and alters their function, killing the host cell, and it won't ever, ever come out of your body so a miniscule amount can do damage for a very long time.

Also by that logic, leaded paint and gasoline are completely harmless. At least with those they weren't *injecting it directly into a vein.*

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16973445

Go fuck yourself.

No, because there are no deletrious substances in leaded paint or gasoline. Why are you here if you don't understand even basic chemistry.

>Responding to shitposters

IIRC frogs are turning gay because of en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atrazine and birth control is responsible for fish gender bending.

>mercury compounds have the same effects of mercury

The first world or at least America has shifted quite strongly into a world of fakery and dramatization. Though to some extent this issue has always been prevalent in one way or another (muh gov, religion, etc) the problems have proliferated through all society such that even family members are no longer safe. Watch a few documentaries that include people who live in other parts of the world. You'd believe they were autistic simply due to how the talk and their face. They are oblivious to the 'corporationism' that America extols.

There are many that are capable of identifying and establishing groups opposed to this particular groupthink but for many this opposition is a representation of the same spirit that fuels big brother. These people have nowhere to turn. Their spirits are free from the dichotomy. Because everyone else is so involved and can't understand why some would involuntarily opt out they get labeled autistic.

But now, it is becoming normal to be autistic. Finally these outliers have found a place in society. However the label crystallizes and reinforces the stagnant mindset and renders them futile in the efforts to reform society.

Some dude is like 99.9999% sure that it's antibiotic overuse and other causes such as pregnant women getting the flu and other bodily traumas during early age.

The gut flora thing was tested in mice in which they tested for a chemical called LPS.

There's tons of cross referenced data done by the guy in this book called Brain Maker that makes this stuff really clear and you can backcheck all of the sources yourself and see the results clearly. Autism isn't being selected for, it's literally a brain under constant inflammation and poison.

>The first world or at least America has shifted quite strongly into a world of fakery and dramatization.
Could there be a connection between drama queens and autism?

I hear older men more often get autistic children. This could be because they can only find leftover drama queens to breed with.

define autism you faggots.
Let's look at that definition and see how much of that fuzz it can explain.
