Why are there female astronauts?

Because they were qualified for the job. Aside from the added complications of menstruation, women make for great astronauts because they're much smaller and lighter on average.

Space can have many effects on Male and Female body (and mental), so sending both sexes in Space can make us understand/improve/anticipate many things.

But user, we all know women are inferior intelligences with weak egos and no independent interests! How could one learn science and then have the will to apply to such a competitive and demanding job?

Their hearts are stronger, withstand vibration much better to males. They also suffer less optic degeneracy,

Not to mention that they are smaller and lighter with cuts launch prices a little. Also, they use less oxygen.

In fact, one has to wonder why to send male astronauts at all.

I've tried that for 26 years.

They do have weaker egoes, but that doesn't matter insofar as they already have been led to want to be an astronaut and are well led in that role.

Because all astronauts are elite outliers so regardless of gender they're more qualified than 99% of humanity.
