What the person you were responding to was correctly commenting on was a solution to the firewall paradox, a known problem with the classical idea of black holes due to information loss. It's posited that black holes have a fuzzy surface at the event horizon (with some planck lengh thickness) that holds the information. Thus particles never really "fall in."
Don't correct people if you have no idea what you're talking about. Honestly, they should ban undergrads and 1st year grad students from even posting in forums.
