The school of life

Can you tell me what it was you didn't agree with?

i don't know shit about the school of life, but i've read quiet a few interesting things on the book of life. i also have read de bottons "the course of love" and it has had a very positive impact on my relationship

i especially like the relationship section they have. it cleans up a lot of unhealthy misconceptions about love a lot of people struggle with

"every philosopher in history was a banal liberal loser like I am and here's why

P.S.: would you like to hear about my thinly veiled sexual anxieties"

This post is the one that most agrees with me abd I hearby declare this thread as finished.

Only seen the philosophy series. I thought it was of the worst kind, not that short introductions aren't fine but from the few clips I watched (been a while desu) I remember how it constantly tried to be all chummy.with normies and made everything seem utterly banal. I am inclined to dislike it and would not recommend it to friends.

came here to post this.

absolute trash. it is to philosophy what john green is to history or joe rogan is to philosophy

he bought the sweater

No ones sucks out the fun, the grandiosity and the coolness of philosophy quite like Alain The Bottom. I guarantee you you will die a virgin or a cuck if you actually listen to that fag's advice on relationships and sex.

It's a great way to be introduced to the vast number of important thinkers that have lived. The negativity itt is totally undeserved imo. Also de Botton tries to give an as well rounded as possible view on each thinker/topic which is the opposite from the overexcited take someone who just got into that particular subject would deliver and I think that's the reason a lot of people here think he's kinda dry.

You sound like someone who's never even read a book somewhat related to philosophy.
