If you want the same type of thing as oatmeal but not sweet do grits instead, for gains you can add just about anything, butter, cheese, eggs.

Leave it to soak beofre cooking, really brigns out the oaty creamyness.

I ended up making it today. It was okay, but my stock was too strong. I think it would have been really good with a weaker stock, and maybe 2 eggs instead of 1.
