Brain health

How do I repair the damage done by weed? I started doing 15 minutes cardio every night. Any medications or foods I should consider?

more weed

bump i'm curious

you can't repair the damage
better luck in the next life

This is what you get you fucking fat neckbearded /b/tard / redditor sack of shit. Next time use real drugs like amphetamine.

Fuck off stoner faggot

Fasting.

what kind of damage are we talking about here?

>How do I repair the damage done by weed?

dont blame weed. blame your own ass for being shit

Are you that guy who was asking about the detrimental effects of weed, or whatever a few days ago?

Eitherway, good on you for trying to improve yourself.

drugabuse.gov/publications/marijuana/what-are-marijuanas-long-term-effects-brain

As the site points out, most research seems to be contradictory.

Although, we should assume that using weed in high concentrations causes some structural brain damage. (better safe than sorry)

>overall looks like brain plasticity goes down
If you're a teenager, you're a bit extra fucked though

brain plasticity is the brain's ability to fix itself and learn new things easily,

You'd have to do a lot of research on your own, but I'd start off with trying to increase brain plasticity.

The usual "healthy routine", cardio, eating healthy could help by releasing dopamine not from drugs, but from the body. This would help you break your weed habit.

So, to recap
1. Live healthy
2*. Look into neuroplasticity. (like exercises to increase it)

*I wouldn't recommend using experimental medicines to try fight the damage caused by weed. Drugs is what got you here, so think carefully before you try any more.

how much of it would result in brain damage?

How Cannabis is grown is an interesting subject worthy of study.

Heavy metals and synthetic nutrients still in the bud likely cause this damage. They go hand in hand...

if you started smoking a lot of pot while you were young (less than 18) you may have done permanent damage, but it's not likely unless you've smoked massive quantities over extended periods.
If you're older...

DAILY REMINDER THE US GOVERNMENT'S PATENT FOR MEDICAL MARIJUANA IS FOR ITS ABILITY TO HEAL AND PROTECT THE BRAIN
>pic related

I may be a total brainlet, but why do people put lead and messed up nutrients in their weed?

Bud structure and such can get to sterioid levels with synthetic nutrients but it's far from organic.

>Massive quantities
Dude lmao

Also OP stop smoking chemical ass weed and eat healthy, meditate, workout, and so forth and let homeostasis do it's thing.

what do you mean? the studies that showed a loss of 6-8 iq points between childhood and adulthood concerned teenagers smoking daily, those are pretty massive quantities.
trying as a teen isn't healthy either either, but i doubt the effect would be very pronounced

Well I just took some of this shit, and after burning off the excess energy from two back to back workouts (was fucking wired) my mental clarity is insane. My body is shot, but I am wide awake and ready to concentrate.

It has an ingredient closely related to amphetamines, so I imagine this shit works well for studying.

You mean the damage done by smoking? Weed wouldn't have done you much of any harm if you'd made tea from it, in moderation.

Just exercise and eat health.

Meditation improves neuroplasticity. Just meditate a lot bro. It's all in your head.

I'm theorizing that they be smoking non-organic weed. They definitely are.

Turmeric and fasting both help to generate new brain cells, specifically in the hippocampus, which would equate to better memory.

I dunno the actual types of damages done to the brain occurring via cannabis smoking, but meditation as well as excerise both in crease cortical thickness, though I don't believe cannabis has an effect on one's cortices, although I could be wrong,m but idk

Meditation
Exercise
Fasting
Turmeric
B vitamins from plant sources

Those things will help to strengthen your brain.,but idk anything about cannabis-induced damage, so, but hey, the aforementioned components of the above list help in many, if, not, all neurological circumstances. G'luck homey godspeed!!!

>massive quantities
How massive are we talking about?

I smoked my first joint at 16 and semi-frequently smoked until 19. I estimate that I smoked about 5-10 grams in my lifetime overall, can't be much higher. Is that bad?

Jesus Christ settle down. Ive smoked a couple pounds from 19 to 26. Shits fine

You don't. Brain damage caused by long-term use of weed is a scientific fact. There is no treatment.

People tell you not to do drugs for a reason.

Have you read these studies? I looked at a lot of them a few quarters ago with the college database and the problem that not a single study could get itself rid of were variables in the habits of the subjects, such as drinking alcohol. That itself is more than enough to fuck up a good test.

Just off yourself man you're permanently damaged.

lmao pussy ahahaha

5-10 grams

It's pretty bad, you need to stop being such a fucking faggot and try some real drugs

And desu a couple pounds over 7 years is weak as fuck too.

That amounts to a tiny joint once a week for 7 years (.4 grams a week)

I know people who smoked a half ounce a week for 5 years and running. That is like 8-10 pounds over 5 years. And they are in a PhD program. You'll be fine..

>IQ study

I seriously doubt any study involving that metric will turn out to be of even B quality of evidence.

I've smoked 3 times in my life since i was 20, im 30 now - have i done irreparable damage?

t. jamal/noah

Yes, but nothing compared to pornography.

Its a permanent damage.

How?

>He's not even addicted to heroin yet

>15 minutes of cardio every night

woah there buddy, slow down, wouldn't want to overexert yourself.

limit your cardio to 11 minutes per day MAX if you don't want your heart to explode.

>gov
>marijuana baaaaad
>.gov goooood

All we know about the weed is that is was just another herb in the medicine cabinet, perhaps used occasionally for recreational purposes and for thousands of years. Like all vestigial Christian crusades and Inquisitions against all things with the taint of Paganism, most knowledge of the weed has been lost and only being regained today.

What is the best food/supplements for the brain...and please no links to Infowars.com.

Used to smoke almost every night in undergrad. After a long day of class and work, feelsgoodman.

One time in an electrodynamics course, I spent hours on an extra-credit problem that I couldn't figure out. Got stoned later that night and it immediately came to me -- ended up being the only person in the class to get the points.

Why did you use a brainlet drug like weed instead of uppers?

all these studies are inconclusive. I would say as long as your psychological health is good and you have a realistic goal in life you're good to go.

implying amphetamines dont lead to reduced CBF, fucking retarded ape.

Seriously dude? You are just dumb, 5-10 grams of weed no matter the potency won't have long lasting effects like that unless you dipped it in angel dust and snorted it off a disease ridden whore.

How much evidence is there that casual marijuana use actually causes permanent damage? I would guess it's more psychological than physical

how much cardio's too much? Most routines suggest 3 day per week @ 30 minute per session, would 30 minutes every day be too much?

of course ith something popular like weed the there's going to be a lot of convenient counter-evidence, but without citing anything I'm 100% sure weed fucks you up

Personally I'm not a user, but I would argue that it's rather that inherently unintelligent people abuse it, than it causing permanent damage.

Do shrooms nigger

>how much cardio's too much?
clearly sarcasm bud, 15 min is nothing

start a real running program like c25k

I actually saw a study that controlled for the effects of alcohol use and found that all the deleterious effects on brain development associated with weed use completely disappeared. People who smoke weed at an early age are also likely to drink at an early age and that's literally the only reason studies done on weed use have shown that it causes problems.

F I S H O I L

Try medicinal marijuana.

i smoked more than that every day when i was 19-20
it fucked me up good

Really every day cardio is best, of course don't push yourself too much. Work your way up. If you can only do 15 try reach something higher by the end of this month.

Yeah.. I started smoking everyday around age 20. Almost 27 now. When I take them ol iq tests online I still get 150+, as long as I haven't smoked recently of course.

I've done every other drug a handful of times but only regularly use cannabis. Sometimes I regret not being a drinker but that shit makes you retarded for sure. Everyone in my small town is half retarded and I can tell it is because of alcohol

Stop seeking medical solutions to problems of willpower, discipline, and education.

what type of solutions should i seek

spiritual.

As a medicinal practice I take a small amount of mushrooms about once a month, not even enough to get high but sometimes I do experience very mild hallucinations. Mushrooms have been shown to help improve brain function and may even help repair damaged brain tissue. I've been doing this for the past 4+ years and have noticed a huge benefit to my emotional struggles after my brother died when I was 16. It may just be a placebo but it definitely has improved my life after suffering from a lot of depression and anxiety. I think mushrooms could definitely undo some of the affects of marijuana given the science behind what it does to the brain.

Use discipline to temper willpower into education.

In other words cut out as much bullshit from your life as you can, then do the things that you already know you're supposed to be doing.

>reddit spacing
>good on you
you have to go back

I see no adverse affects unless you cant control yourself yes it changes the brains structure but they only do studies on cannabis cause they want to find something wrong with it. All drugs that are psychoactive will change brain structure no matter what. Caffeine probably does something but Everytime you try and look it just mentions something about how when kids drink it they get less sleep which ok but does it change brain structure. It's kind of crazy to think that putting something into your body can change the way you think forever or what might've been different had you ever done it same thing with food. Food has chemicals that alter the brain. I don't see any inherently medical value for me though I just use it to use it sometimes doesn't have to have a reason. I love coffee fags getting all preachy when there fucking adenosine receptors are down regulated but weed has same faggots too so idk

>people perpetuate use this meme
fuck off newfag

Hey OP, fucked up by weed myself. I'm old now and the memory never really recovered (got a college degree in the mentimea though, so something works). There's a lot of assholes in this thread, all the 'weed does no damage' brigade.

Things I think are useful here are:
>brain plasticity is the brain's ability to fix itself and learn new things easily,
>You'd have to do a lot of research on your own, but I'd start off with trying to increase brain plasticity.
>The usual "healthy routine", cardio, eating healthy could help by releasing dopamine not from drugs, but from the body. This would help you break your weed habit.

Stuff I didn't know in this post

>Use discipline to temper willpower into education.
>In other words cut out as much bullshit from your life as you can, then do the things that you already know you're supposed to be doing.

I think this is more important than anything. I got into martial arts, and eventually recovered enough to go to college. Now later on I'm learning a language. It has all been very hard. I remember school as a kid, breezing through exams, soaking up and retaining information, and all that went. It's been a struggle, every step, but worth it. And it took 5 or 6 years to go from the weed to get into college.

One thing I would add from my own experience, is the importance of sleep. If I don't get enough sleep I go downhill fast. There's lots of research now about sleep, memory, cognitive function, and a whole range of other physiology which is affected.

Good luck.

And recent research casts doubt on the value of 'brain-training' exercises like sudoku, though crosswords are supposed to be effective. There is evidence to show that learning a musical instrument can help with the cognitive decline of ageing, and bilingual pepole are protected against the language-related decline in some forms of dementia. My personal opinion, based on a combination of seeing such research and a loathing of games and puzzles, is that stuff like languages and learning a musical instrument is probably more effective.

Good luck.

>Conspiracy
Go back to your containment board.
Even if was wrong about assumptions of weed, he was spot-on about exercise.

Your body and brain were deprived of O2 (the carbon smoke replaced it). You need glucose to replace the O2 in your brain, so any vegetables are good. Meat will make it worse as it is a food with little water; whereas vegetables are 70% water.
I can get the eating well part but not the not-toking part. It seems useless to eat well and still smoke.
