If you're in a top 10% (maybe even 20%) institution, you should always study what you enjoy. With the ever growing intersectionality of disciplines, you can find fantastic research/job opportunities with whatever major. The mainstream mindset of "STEM or bust" is counterproductive at higher levels and saturates the fields with students that do not put their heart in their work.

However, if you're going to a low-tier school, you're a certified brainlet and your considerations take a turn. These are the institutions where humanities majors are looked down upon because graduation opportunities are limited (due to brainlets not knowing how to apply aforementioned majors). Look to transfer if possible, it is never beneficial to do anything as a means to an end.
