Is sleeping for brainlets?

I know that feel bro. Sometimes I sleep through an entire raining sunday and I still tired afterwards.

It's because how tired you feel depends on at what point during your sleep cycle you wake up, not how long you've slept (that determines how long you can stay awake without sufferng deprivation problems).

If you wake up during light sleep, you'll feel awake, even if you've only slept a couple hours (but, like said above, you'll quickly tire out and start suffering the deprivation). If you wake up during an REM phase, slow-wave, or any other deep sleep phase, then you feel bad and tired (this is called sleep inertia).

If you want to wake up feeling great, consider tracking your sleep schedule and setting your alarm to wake you up after the usual amount of hours it takes for you to get into light sleep. There are also alarm apps/devices that can detect when you're in light sleep and wake you up.

>go to sleep ~5am, wake up 12pm tired
>go to sleep before midnight
>sleep until 12pm again because the biological clock wants to fuck me

The problem is very likely to be that you are A FUCKING MESS, try to be more consistent in your sleeping, it makes wonders.
e.g. from 11 pm to 6 am everyday.

Maybe you are just talking about feeling tired at the moment of waking up? then follow

>sleeps 6 hours a day or less
>One day decide to sleep 3 hours
>Tries to recover next day by sleeping 10
Thats not how sleep works user
Human biology is made for brainlets

>fall asleep at 8PM
>wake up exactly 4 hours later

>fall asleep at 11PM or midnight
>wake up 8-13 hours later depending on the day

i hate this meme and don't understand it

i wish i had normie sleep problems, I routinely sleep 10-12 hours a night on a consistent schedule and 12-18 if im being an autist about my sleep pattern. If i get less than 10 a night by the end of a week im just a straight up pumpkin that can barely hold a conversation

I'm barely capable of getting more than 5-6 hours, when I wake up I feel kinda shitty and still tired, can never go back to sleep after I wake...

Is this normal?

>getting up even though you are tired is a brainlet filter

I know that feel bro.

this, just have a consistent sleep cycle and make sure you are consistent in what you do before sleeping too.

Restless leg syndrome.

The most interesting thing though, is that humans need REM sleep. Without it we die. Your brain deteriorates beyond recovery. It's an incredibly slow and painful death.

you can sleep when you're dead, which will happen alot faster if you dont sleep, so just dont

Not enough sleep.
University of Massachusetts declared adults need at least 8.5 hours a night and teens may need 9.33. They also declare that you build up a sleep deficit, so just one night of good rest won't fix the fact that you've been sleep deprived for months. Basically, you're a fucking brainlet, op

for REM sleep. "

AMPHETAMINES WIN ONCE AGAIN

I think sleeping and eating might be a HUGE HUGE fucking meme. or at least you could sleep and eat way less than (((social norms))) tell you to.

also, sleep with an open window. air conditioners are not the same. i noticed i wake up feeling like shit when the window was closed. but when it's open i wake up feeling really nice. all other factors are the same. it's also not a placebo effect, since at first i didnt know it's because of the window, but still woke up fresh and feeling amazing.

Nope, just tired people. Working people have the best sleep.
