On the contrary all mistakes are dumb mistakes, and they absolutely do count.

- club 8 is starting point therefor 0
- club 7 the first therefor 100+ 1*7 + 1
- club 6 the second therefor 100 + 2*6 + 2
-club 5 the third therefor 100 + 3*5 + 3

I'm not questioning whether the explanation is "right" or not. It's a valid way to generate that sequence, yes, but you can find a reasonable explanation for any of those values if you really want to.
