Yep society has kind of messed up this rule a bit in humans which is why I was referring to pre-historic humans mainly. A guy can't go around impregnating every woman he can in modern society haha
I'm saying that males historically have wildly differing success rates but yes all those things you mentioned play a part, especially genetics since it at partially determines stuff like socio-economic status. However, as said society has turned humans into a monogamous species were almost nobody is left out.
