le funny postmodern man with popculture references and wacky names xD

Because Pynchon is a meme writer.

No it was my boyfriend who got me to read it. I asked him what his favourite moment was in part 1 last night and found out he didn't actually read it though

shut the FUCK UP

i didn't ask for your life story you BITCH

what.

What don't you get or like about the book? Not enough Vampires and abs?

Is it true that females are into 'vampire' stuff, because its subconscious psychological fear and longing of 'disattracting/grossing out' men because of their bleeding pusses, and a man that actually desires blood, who would in fact, suck it, is one of the sublimest turn ons and desires?

...

protip: you're a nigger

I'm sick of subhuman drooling mongoloids with the IQ of a rock who can't understand or enjoy Pynchon and thus assume no one else can. Go read Cormac McCarthy or something and leave us alone, please.

Mason and Dixon is one of the most beautiful books I've ever read. For the trolls who obviously haven't read it, it's very dissimilar to his other heavy pomo works like GR and V., and while it is occasionally difficult, it is the strongest characterization of any novel I've ever read

old Veeky Forums is turning in its grave

OP isn't serious. he's just baiting.

I will fucking fist fight someone if they say that book is bad. it's great assholes

stop writing pomo I always read it as porno
pls

Honestly I like that people are defending this book but it is overrated here. Gravity's Rainbow IMO is the superior and more ambitious work even if it doesn't have as great characterizations. It's still amazing in itself though and I don't want to compare it to GR since it's clearly so different, but again, I think GR deserves its reputation as the crown of his work -- a pretty early peak, sadly.

i'm also reading it right now, and while it is good, i doubt i'll ever read it again unlike GR, i think M&D is a little more dense

maybe because i love WWII and don't really give a shit about american history

however, it's better than almost every fucking book i've ever read

>Beethoven may as well stopped after the 5th symphony
>all that is important is that people know I can casually rank books and non chalently metaphorically knock them out of existence with whimsy because it makes my intellect appear extremely supremely legit if it seems as if I have read 2 difficult books, and can say one was not as good as the other
>Shakesphere is not that good you know *at cocktail party, guest in circle says "what" and moves in closer* Shakesphere only really needed to write 1 play, his best one, I have read more than that though you know, but if I were you I wouldnt even read his 2nd 3rd or 4th best works... because I read them, and I think they are not that good, certainly not as good as his best, unfortunately, I actually visited his grave once (friends of the family) and I banged on the dirteth that layseth betwixt my bronzzedd feat, and pounded the Earth screaming "William, o' dearest Will... why, musteth you hath piqueth so soonth!" I chanted towards the heavens, and swear I nearly saw a ghost... in fact that would have been the 4th most inspired ghost I would have seen, hardly worth writing home about. So anyway, what do you ladies do?

"well I-"
"wait before I forget, let me tell you about this one time I went polar bear hunting on skis, here hold my drink for a second, I have to act this out"

I have heard Against the Day is one of his better too, and maybe of some different vibes than GR?
