Should science-fiction authors be allowed to write characters with IQs higher than theirs?

Should science-fiction authors be allowed to write characters with IQs higher than theirs?

One of my favorite mystery authors claims his main character has 170 IQ but the author himself sounds more like a 110-120.

How can a mere 120 imply he has a complete understanding of the mind of a 170 IQ person?

I myself am a 140 and I can't even imagine what a 170 IQ mind is capable of.
It completely breaks my immersion and suspension of disbelief.

I also think mystery writers shouldn't write about murders unless they have killed someone first.
They could start with OP.

I barely made it passed the first sentence without laughing. I'm still laughing as I write this.

Einstein only had an IQ of 129.

Maybe the author is actually 180, but he dumbs everything he says down to a 120 level so the plebs can understand him. Did I restore your suspension of disbelief?

This and no stories about dragons unless you've actually slain one.

Daily reminder that IQ is a meme, and that you're a meme for taking it seriously.

t. sub 130 brainlet

Only low IQers disregard IQ as a meme.

Please try harder :)

What's your IQ?

>I myself am a 140
I very much doubt that given this thread.

*Ahem*

>The fucking state of Veeky Forums that there are threads like this

How does someone with an IQ 110-120 sound like? What about someone with an IQ 140?

Link?

This.
Veeky Forums will keep claiming psychology is not a science, yet it still falls right into one of its biggest mistakes besides Myerr-Briggs tests.

>2014
>online test

Your IQ is now proven to be way lower than average. This thread is done.

dude you are a fucking faggot, literally Veeky Forums god tier cringe. if its a work of fiction it shouldn't matter.

Science fiction would be rename magic tech to avoid association science

>favorite mystery author

who?

>I myself am a 140
who gives a fuck about iq

this whole fucking post tells me you have a 115 iq and you took an online test(s) that gave you 150,so just knock off 10 points and think that accurate.

That fucking picture is even from freeiqtest, net for fucks sake.

The author can do whatever he wants, and peoples thoughts are about the same at any iq. I feel like myself when I am drunk, or when I am sober, but I know I will get different IQ scores. My sister is 160 and she is very normal. She tells me what is going on in her head and it is pretty smart but nothing to write down. She is just excellent at math and abstract thinking.

>Should science-fiction authors be allowed to write characters with IQs higher than theirs?
No, it should be illegal and be punishable with minimum jail sentences.

Stop admiring the smell of your own farts

I'm getting really sick of having to explain this. There are three major legitimate IQ tests in America: The WISC, the WAIS, and the Stanford-Binet.

YOU CANNOT SCORE HIGHER THAN 160 ON ANY OF THEM

All scores above 145 mean essentially the same thing. Once you hit the 99.99th percentile, comparing scores becomes absolutely meaningless. For all intents and purposes, 145 is the "highest" score for anyone.

I don't know where people keep getting this 170, 180, etc. meme from. It's such a load of bullshit I'm constantly in disbelief at how many people believe it.

Or fucked one.

these shitty threads have been around since forever
