jokes aside there are probably a lot of aspects to this. you might remember that Antifa published a list of the 500 most evil nazis on twitter recently - its a dumb grouping with lots of dissimilar accounts, but they managed to cover almost everyone interesting. BAP was recently mentioned in an Atlantic article, and there was a big shitfest in London over the LD50 art gallery featuring kantbot and frogtwitter memes. The eye of sauron has now been staring at the dissident right for long enough that its starting to pick up on some of the granular details
it goes without saying that there are a lot of people on the left who are still really freaked out about what happened in November and what's happening now with the "alt right." The relentless barrage of propaganda and hysteria about the outer-right has done nothing to actually damage it - nearly all of the edgiest "alt-right" websites have seen steady increases in traffic over the past several months, or at least held steady. e.g. Daily Stormer has doubled its traffic. They doxed and humiliated Mike Enoch, and TRS's traffic has nearly doubled since then. Nothing seems to be working so they're looking for any weapon they can find to stop the right's momentum - probably the best one they've got is interdicting the right's ability to think and communicate over social media platforms where they (leftists) hold positions of power, like Twitter.
